I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't at all expect it to smell like it does.
I've grown to like it quite a bit, however... and its latherability is quite nice indeed.


So... my morning was going well.
Nobody killed me on my ride home from work, I went for a nice walk/jog, I had a healthy breakfast of yogurt with granola, and was sitting here browsing forums.
And then I heard a tapping sound that I quickly realized was dripping.
The source of the sound was the corner of my kitchen, and the offending liquid was coming from the razzlefrazzin' ceiling. :mad:
You know... the roomie and I pay good money to live in this place and this is the THIRD time in 2 years that we've been the victim of someone else's plumbing problem.
At least it doesn't seem to be an overflowed toilet this time.
It seems to be isolated to this one corner and since it's tapered down to a steady drip, I'm going to assume whatever caused it in the upstairs apartment has stopped. Maintenance should be around shortly.
Sooner than later, I hope... I have to get some sleep.

 

Sorry to hear about the plumbing issues. It really gets me when it is due to somebody else's negligence. Always a pain when you live in apartments...

 

mmm chinese food friday

 

if only... daughter is willing to try Chinese food again... well not really. She just says she is because she thinks it will make me happy. However, reality is a tantrum because she refuses to eat is much worse. So I have no attention of putting it to the test. At least not this week.... However, Chinese is on the menu for next Friday's lunch (daughter will be at grandparent's)

 

yeah, it wasn't what I was expecting either, but I liked it right of the bat because it had a very familiar scent, I'm thinking possibly my grandfather may have used it when I was younger
and, to add, Dr. Harris Arlington and Tabac do not smell exactly alike, just a subtle similarity...at least to my nose at the particular time, judging solely on memory, I'll get some Tabac out later and compare, it's probably quite different when compared side-by-side

speaking of water... just got the call... trip to water park is canceled for tonight.. something about a thunderstorm and water makes people nervous. I guess I am now taking daughter and her friend bowling. ummmm... I am not sure how my back is going to like this...

 

Negligence or just cheap construction... hard to say.
They got whatever was leaking upstairs cleaned up before I went to bed so I was able to sleep easily.
Apparently they'll be waiting until next week (giving things in the ceiling time to dry) to assess the damage and do the repairs.
A side benefit, the roomie gave the new apartment manager an earful and she seems to be prepared to do some sucking up when our lease renewal comes around in a couple of months.

One of the HW engineers I work with pointed this out to me today. It's probably old news for many of you, but I thought it was a hoot. Some advice: don't try to understand... :shocked031

 

nevermind. was going to take the kids to the local Chinese food place - not the best, but certainly not the worst, when they decided they wanted the "sandwhich and ice cream place!", as they call it (complete with exclamation mark, I might add).
It's actually called Simple Delights Emporium, nice little place. The owner also makes all kinds of soaps, creams, shampoos, colognes, perfumes, etc., that she sells there. They had a refridgerator problem and all they had available for lunch was chicken fajita wraps (exactly 2 left), and chicken salad sandwhich. Being as neither I nor my kids are big chicken salad fans, the kids got the two fajitas, and I got a root beer float. The daughter of the owner felt bad they were out of food stuffs, so she offered me a free soap, and I also got a 10% discount on the Omega brush and soap set they have for sell there - so, Micah, next time you're in there, make sure they don't have what you want to order :happy097.
All in all, rather nice day with the kids while my wife had a training session to go to.


Also, I very disappointed...it's been nearly 6 hours since my last post, and only 4 posts posted since then?
my goodness, ya'll act like it's Friday and you have social stuff to do!

what its shark week? Why do loan agents get a special week?

Didn't occur to us what the bowling alley would be like on a Friday evening. Music was too loud for the girls (especially daughter with sensory processing issues) so after 1 game we went to cold stone. Its amazing listening to those 2 nine year old girls talk. As often as sharks came up in the other girls conversation she must have been watching shark week as well.


Oops... gotta tennis ball dropped in my lap. Dog must want to play fetch for a while to make up for being crated up on a Friday night.

Hey all. Sorry for being practically MIA for the past couple days. I'm actually in Florida now, staying at my parents' house. We have some family business to take care of so I flew down for a few days.

I'm exhausted right now, but hungry, so I've got some pasta on the stove. I'll probably perk up a little after some food.

Anyone still awake? If so, how are you?

Wow. Never seen a pizza like that. I'm actually questioning how that would taste.

Thanks, Jen! I got really excited but then realized that they don't deliver to me or to my parent's home in Florida. In any case, thanks for the link. I'd never heard of them before, but it sounds awesome. You guys that got free food need to let me know how it is.

Ah. Sucking up during lease renewal is a really nice thing. I got my landlord to drop the rent when I renewed this year.
