For you Yankee fans out there :)...
    “Pride of Bronx”
German razor made for Sal. Rossi, Bronx, NY

A nice example of a big German hollow ground razor. Probably had an edge set, but really not much use.

    And did I say big...

Even the box look like it was rarely opened. This one should be a fun one... too bad I grew up an Orioles fan.
    Happy hunting.

That shape kind of reminds me of my 7/8 Clauss. That means that I want one.

Thanks Mike/Steve. I have high hopes for this one :eatdrink047:
If it can touch the quality of a Clauss, I’ll be happy.

@DaltonGang here are the photos you asked for. This razor was made in England around 1830-40 by Charles McDaniel. It has Ivory scales with a silver wire inlay.

It has been wonderfully restored by Jamie Mahoney. I have a brief history on him and a pic of the street where it was made.

Thanks for the pics. The makers really took pride in their blades, back then. I really like the wire inlay Ivory scales.

Boxed gentleman’s pair, Japanese Kamisori. Probably pre-WW2.

A couple of Tanifuji masterpieces which found their way into my quiver recently. The Tanifuji Swedish steel Baba 862 with gorgeous golden yellow swirled scales, and a Tanifuji No. 1 Silver steel...both 13/16” in size and in mint condition. I’d never seen a No. 1 before, and the blank is identical to the Spalding / Command / MaxFli Gold.

No other Japanese western razors have impressed me nearly as much as Tanifuji’s with exception of the Eiko. Of course, I don’t own an Iwasaki western....yet.

Beautiful razors Mark, you just can’t go wrong with Tanifuji. The scales on that BaBa are gorgeous.

I want one of those red scale tanifuji razors. The baba looks great as well. I absolutely love japanese blades.

They’re fairly common. There’s a NOS Command in red scales on the bay, that’s the same razor, also made by Tanifuji according to Fikira’s blog.

Thanks I do agree, back then it truly was an art form where they took pride in their work. I believe it was all hand made.

That is one beautiful pair of razors. I guess that is the only style I haven't tried to shave with yet.

Has anyone heard of, or shaved with a Rigolleto straight razor. I have one and it is a wonderful shaving razor. I just can't find much information about it or any for sale. I only have heard of one other. Here are a few pics of the one I own:

It's a 6/8 round point razor and holds a wonderful edge.

Your Straight was made for an import company in Boston .Hard to say who made it .But it looks like it was made in the 1920-1930's .Which was when quality was suburb .

The scales are almost identical to the ones on my Peter Michaels tru-edge. I wonder if yours was made by him.

WOW, It really does look the same as far as scales go and the razor except mine has a rounded end. I would sure like to find another Rigoletto razor or two, knowing the quality mine has. The only other one I had seen was in a video that DrMatt357 put out along with a shaving cream that's not sold to or in the US. I have both a Rigoletto razor and that soap. The soap is Calonie Earl Gray and it's made with sheeps milk.
