The George (Karl) led Sonics of the early 90s with Payton, Kemp, Schrempf et al were my favourite Seattle memories... grew up a Sonics fan. We got Seattle TV north of the border.

Ok, ok, so I've never actually had pheasant under glass. Not unless you count the ones I shot growing up in Kansas and threw up on the dashboard (under the windshield). How about.....better than steak and lobster? Or, perhaps, better than the finest STL BBQ? Any better?

My friend actually attended more Nuggets games than Coach Karl did. My friend George averaged 35 games for 41 years.

 

Gary, this is my Father's house. Staying with them has been a blessing. I plan on getting my own place this summer.

Xavier McDaniel! Awesome. Had an 'X Man Cometh' poster in my bedroom in first year University. Those were good teams too. Tom Chambers, Dale Ellis, Nate McMillan, Michael Cage. Tough to be in the same division in the 80s with the Showtime Lakers and the Clyde Drexler/Terry Porter/Jerome Kersey Blazers though...

 

Yes, a few actually. They had a standing promotion through Basketball BC that coaches of registered teams would get tickets to a game a year. Back when I coached in my younger days I took advantage of that and saw a game a year for a few years when I would come back to the area at Christmas to visit family. I haven't actually lived anywhere near the Vancouver area as an adult. I travel there roughly 3-4 times a year for work stuff these days.
In general, basketball has taken off in Canada. Especially the past decade. Quietly, there are over 200 Canucks on Div 1 NCAA scholarships. 22 active players in the NBA. The Raptors winning it all last year was the cherry on top, but bittersweet as those of us on the 'left coast' were Grizzly/Sonics fans and lost teams. The Grizzlies leaving probably made sense at the time, the Sonics being allowed to move was a travesty. I will never forgive David Stern.

Ha, that's when the big mistake comes. You may be ahead of schedule. The cocky gash on your face happens around shave 20. Don't get too far ahead.

 

Pro teams moving is funny. I still laugh that Utah, home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, is the home of the Jazz. Nothing about Utah says, home of Jazz except, home of THE Jazz.

 

Jeff gave me a Shake Sharp as well. He's working pretty hard to create a following. I really like the Shake Sharp. Like the Monobilt I'm a little concerned there may not be enough of them out there, but thanks to Jeff I have one.
