Thanks Charlie. I also have his 25 year watch that isnt working but was talking to the jeweler today . Think it needs a movement.
This was my Dad's 25 year watch from the plant. He actually stayed there for 33 years before taking early retirement. I had this stored away as when my mother gave it to me she said it was broken and couldn't be repaired from what the jeweler told Dad. Apparently when he bought the new Caravelle it had the elastic band and he had them swap it out for the clasp type off the other one. To make a long story short, I took it to a different jeweler and he replaced battery and now its running perfectly. Bought a couple pins and had the elastic band put back on Caravelle. Now I have 2 momentos near and dear to my heart. Not only do watches tell time but they tell stories as well.
Vintage Wittnauer. Literally 'found' on a walk. Beat up, but keeps time. Ordered a new band which came in today. Cleaned it up a bit, but the Polywatch is still on order: @wristwatchb Thought it measured to an 18mm lug, but think I'll order a 20mm for it. I've got a few more incoming that the 18 will fit, I'm sure.
