3/13/20 - Fat Friday Feather FuzzTech Shave

    Klenzo Brush
    Timeless Shaving Bowl
    Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap
FuzzTech on Possible Simplex Handle - Maybe Gillette ?
    Feather Blade
    Clubman Aftershave Lotion

Awesome fat shave with the FuzzTech and the Fat. Three passes, no blood loss and smooth as almost the day I was born. I was a pretty baby.

Finished the shave off with the Club.

I put a rather unusual handle on the FuzzTech that I purchased off of E-bay in January of 2019.

I cannot find any information on it but I copied some of my post from January of last year.

    Y’all have a great Friday!

O.K. guys...see if y'all can help out with a little info on a razor I picked up off of the Bay. It is the metal handle razor in the left of this picture. It is a Simplex brand and I grabbed it because the handle was unusual. I also like the little Gem Feather Weight as well. I could not pass both of them up for $6.75 including shipping. Has anyone seen the metal handle Simplex before and any info would be appreciated.

I searched the web over and the only reference I can find to a metal handle Simplex was on TSD. Everything else is bakelite handles.

Alright guys, the handle that came on this E-bay Simplex has me scratching my head I was hoping someone with more razor knowledge could figure this one out.

After closer inspection and comparison I believe the handle to actually be a Gillette handle. I did notice that when I unscrewed the “Simplex” two piece handle that the male threads had what appeared to be red Loc-tite. Did the handle manufacturer ever intend for the handle to be unscrewed or had someone added a little Loc-tite after the razor was manufactured? I don't know. Does anyone know if Gillette has ever manufactured a travel tech extension like this?

The link below is the only example of this type handle I have found on the web. It is item number 2 on the first post.

Thanks Gary, I still think it a Gillette handle but who modified it I do not know. Is it possible that it is a Gillette modification or offering? Maybe we will get the answer one day.

Real nice shave today with the Razorock Aqua Shaving Cream Soap. My goal is to stretch the soap throughout the summer months, but we shall see. My other Razoorock(Lime Burst)will be around for a few springs&summers...tough to crack through that pancake. Anyway-good loading strength of the Stoylin brush, 2 solid passes, no cuts/weepers. Finished off with Clubman Reserve Gent's Gin. That was the best aftershave I could find to "match" the Razorock soap. Kinda like pouring Gin into a clear lake. Very Excellent.

    Hemingway Accoutrements~~Parker~~Merkur 23C/Gillette Silver Blue
Current goal...rid my den of sadly, a great performing soap, but riddled with granules.
Continuing my focus on razor blades made in Russia.
Back to the Gillette Silver Blue.
    Glue dots...:rolleyes005:
    Sharpness...:happy088:/:rolleyes005:
    Smoothness...:happy088:/:rolleyes005:
Better than the Platinums, but not even in the same league as many other blades,
    including Sharp Star and Voskhod.
Not even in the same universe as a Personna 74 or a Wilkinson Light Brigade.
The lather was gorgeous, but grainy. :(
I cannot believe that I am the only shaver that has this issues with certain soaps.
Wickham's was the first, many years ago.
    The Myrsol Don Carlos...yup, grainy.
    It's a testament to poor soap-making. Period.
Look at AoS, Proraso, DRH, Eufros, Baume.be.
    Perfect creams, without issue.
This stuff was not cheap and I feel ripped off.
I'll use it up because it works and smells great, but I am done purchasing Hemingway Accoutrements shave creme.
I might consider the aftershave tonic, which is amazing.
The shave was good, until the neck. Even with the lightest of touches, the Silver Blue is harsh.
Had to abandon any thoughts of a BBS.
Maybe they will be better in a different razor.:signs002:
