  3. Wonderful shave Evan.
  4. I haven't commented negatively on the performance nor the scent.
  5. Andrew I am glad that you are out of the hospital and doing better. The shave reports are excellent with insightful observations. Take care.
  6. Well done, Tim.
IMO, if to achieve a BBS shave causes irritation, I choose a DFS without any day. Irritation lasts much longer than the smoothness of a BBS shave.

  8. I am moving on, but without looking for a refund. I am finished with the company.
Stay tuned to today's report, regarding my attempt at "de-granulating" this cream.
  9. Rimshot.

  11. Great shaves and I am glad you're feeling better, Andrew.
  12. Yes they are. The Shake Sharp was designed for the thicker Carbon Steel blades of the period. Jeff @jgreenepa recommended using 2 DE blades to mimic the thickness of the Carbon Steel thickness because he felt the razor would work much better. I may try using one blade and see if there is any difference in the headshave.
  13. Andrew great introspection on your shaves! As far as shaving the mustache, I open my mouth to shave WTG (north to south). XTG, I stretch by the corner of the mouth and stroke in the opposite direction of the stretch. Some shavers only go in one direction, and others go both ways. You need to decide on how you want to attack going XTG. Now, the ATG is know as the fool's pass and that is going from south to north. I wouldn't be attempting this pass until you have many more straight shaves because this is where you have a higher incidence of cutting yourself. There are a number of ways to do this pass. First, you can tighten the area the same way as you would going WTG, and proceed. Second, you can keep mouth closed and keep the blade stationary, but move your face slightly downward to shave. Finally, I have discovered a different method. I keep my mouth partially open and press down on the lip with my off hand finger to stretch the skin and then shave south to north. Again, I would not try ATG in the mustache area until you feel very comfortable and confident in handling the blade.
  14. I feel the same way about the "change oil soon" light on my wife's car. Nag nag nag. Then I realized I can reset it and it stops bugging me all the time. Winning!
  15. Well good Sunday morning to all!!
Hope everyone is OK, fed well and Happy!
Felt odd this morning, well odder than I normally do.
So I left the open blade thing sit on the dresser.
Did decide to use some implements and mixtures hadn't been used for a while.
One of my Schick injector with a B-20 blade.
    An E model I think.
Pulled out my container of TOBS sandal wood with a big brush.
TOBS doesn't fair well in my water.
If I don't use enough, I get more of a foam than a lather if I get anything at all.
Instead of a nickels worth, it takes about a quarter.
Not that it won't work that way, but I like it lathery.
That's the reason I'm not so into it.
The scent is great and after a proper mixing, and it works fine.
I use a B-20 blade because the Schick blades pull and tug to much.
2 passes on the face with a 3rd pass on the neck for good measure.
By the time I was ready for the head to be smoothed a bit, it was time for more adding cream and mixing in a dab of water.
2 passes and a 3rd pass on the back of the gord.
By the time I was at the 2cd pass up there, the blade was pretty well wore out.
That's why a 3rd was needed on about half.
    Well.....
The 3rd passes weren't really necessary because I'm staying home.
Lots of 70 and 80 year olds at church ya see. Many not in good health, None of us have any symptoms, but just in case.
20200315_072958.jpg Finished everything by spashing on some Stirling AS with a slother of post shave, as normal.

I'm gonna get more things done around here, nothing needed.
So I won't be roaming about.

    All
    ENJOY!!

  18. New acquisition or just contemplation? Have you seen it in person? It is a fine looking watch.

I still take notes on how I honed the razor, how many shaves and I rate each shave for smoothness and sharpness. It was and is a big help to me.
  19. Sunday shave: This is a big girl, 8/8 with a hefty 3/4 grind and nice smile. A nice weekend shave.

  20. Send me a couple Feather. I'll join in.

Why is CW is that newbies should use mild razors?
