but, that is an amazing set of coincidence.

 

Yes I can. I grew up a country boy. Then served in the US Army as an Infantryman long before there was a GPS so land navigation skills were a must. I am too old and a touch too lazy for much of that stuff now but I still know how to do it.

 

I get the same thing with talking finance and accounting. Each profession has its own language that confuse those that don't work in the business. You should see the looks my wife gives me.

Thank you Terry. The Army helped me pay my way through college which was the excuse at the time. Along the way serving helped me grow up.

Thank you! I thank God and my parents. I will be 65 in June and I work out 6 days a week, lifting weights and doing cardio. My resting heart rate is 55-60 beats per min. I never smoked and drank alcohol very sparingly which also helps. I also was not a sun worshipper. You are young so if you do right by taking care of yourself now, then you will reap the benefits when you attain my current age.

Technical types are a different breed. This was an actual photo taken during one of my study sessions. We sometimes "studied" at my buddy's family welding shop in the evenings. I was the instigator...er...photographer. My skills in this area have always come naturally.

The dude on the left grew up to be a respected polymer scientist (he was my Best Man), and the feller on the right is a systems engineering specialist. They still carry writing and measuring tools in their shirt pockets, and they can empty a pot of coffee or a tub of peanut butter in nothing flat.

The three of us would be hard-pressed to produce a set of cuff links we actually purchased for ourselves. Watches, though...we all liked watches.

 

Emotion?
Short-sightedness?
Greed?
Buying into the doomsday scenario?
