Ooouch... My cheeks are on fire tonight... I tried a fresh GEM blade / bullet tip shave tonight and it did not go well. My beard usually takes extra effort with this razor but I wanted a challenge. Ow this blade did a number on me. I stroked it several times on my jeans considering the newness of it and boy was it rough. This was a new pack that I received in a trade. Maybe someone sent me non shaving GEM blades?? All I know is that my cheeks are in a bad place and will need several days to recover . I hope everyone else has better luck than me today. I tossed that new blade.

Thanks Gary. I need to use this more often as I forgot just what a great shaver it is. It's also the only Gillette I inherited front my Dad..seems he favored Schick injectors. On the other hand perhaps he thought this one was so good he didn't need any other type of Gillette

 

this gillette can replicate most of its past champions..fine shaver..

SOTD:
Some fantastic shaves this week, the third shave was the last for the feather, I'm retiring it after its 16th great shave, and replacing it with a derby extra paired with my other Wilkinson sword razor, the classic, which is my favourite travel razor because its super light weight being almost entirely plastic, and its a fantastic shaver for sure.

This week featured a lot of arko shaves, celebrating one year of using arko 2 times a week on average, and one year of using the same stick too.

I apologize for the late post, i would have posted earlier but things have been hectic here in South Africa with a state of emergency being declared due to the outbreak of the Corona virus here.

Today's soap has excellent mechanics and the same kind of scent as its brothers: articulate, complex,warm. But in a summer version.

I hope you will appreciate this surreptitious glimpse of Italy: the brush looks like the leaning tower of Pisa!

Another gruesome photo even if I hope to be recognized as the Henri Rousseau of photography in the future.

Excellent mechanics and a very pleasant shave.

The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #391 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette New Standard Tuckaway with a Gillette Silver Blue half blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
