We took our share of grief from my buddy's brother who ran the welding shop. We returned the favor every chance we got. :D

It was actually a really good family that practically adopted me and my other buddy in the photo.

    Razor: HomeLike CT☆PT .69SB
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay WarForge
    Pre-shave: PAA The Cube
    Soap: B&M Seville
    Lucky Tiger face tonic
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: B&M Seville

    Good morning

New razor up for today. The HomeLike Start. Very nice fit and the finish is better than good but not great. I would compare the finish to the Razorock stainless razors. I purchased the full set which included four baseplates, a .69 SB, a .90 SB, a .90 OC and a 1.18 SB. The plan is three shaves with each baseplate starting with the .69 and climbing the ladder.

Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Silent alum.

This configuration is a real technique tester. Little to no blade feel. I was shaving mostly by audible feedback. I found myself having to correct the angle quite often. Very small sweet spot and maintaining it proved tricky. Super smooth though. Like wiping the lather off with the back of a spoon but with the correct angle it took the whiskers with it.

    Have a great day! [IMG]

You're right, Joe. You have to practice any skill you learn to retain mastery. I'm sure you know a tremendous amount of chemistry because you use it and teach it to your students. I'm betting you're at least a Quadruple Jedi Chemist in the classroom. :yoda

    SOTD:
Some fantastic shaves this week, the third shave was the last for the feather, I'm retiring it after its 16th great shave, and replacing it with a derby extra paired with my other Wilkinson sword razor, the classic, which is my favourite travel razor because its super light weight being almost entirely plastic, and its a fantastic shaver for sure.

This week featured a lot of arko shaves, celebrating one year of using arko 2 times a week on average, and one year of using the same stick too.

I apologize for the late post, i would have posted earlier but things have been hectic here in South Africa with a state of emergency being declared due to the outbreak of the Corona virus here.

    Shave 1:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (14)
    Brush: Omega 49
    Soap: arko shave stick
    Aftershave: status for men

    Shave 2:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (15)
Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave brush
    Soap: the grooming dept, Credance
    Aftershave: old spice whitewater

    Shave 3:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (16)
    Brush: omega 49
    Soap: arko shave stick
    Aftershave: ego, Bahama mist[IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Good morning all!
Hope your day will be fine, even great if possible!

Grabbed 2 Techs this morning, trying to get through the box of razors.
Tech A I loaded a new Feather blade then proceeded to finish the first pass on the mug.
Switched the blade to the Tech B then went through the second pass on the mug and a third on the neck to clean it up.
Keeping the blade in Tech B, I finished the first pass on the gord.
Switching the blade from Tech B to Tech A.
I did a second pass on the gord with a 3rd pass on the top-back for clean up.
    with Tech A.
I'm as clean as the Gillett Techs can get me.
    No issues.

That a couple blade changes but it tested the razors and got two down with one job.

Cleaned and ready, these little tools can be put in the give box.
They are ready for a good bath in alcohol before they are passed along.

I know it's getting crazy in some places.
    Be well
    Be careful
    Be happy
    all
    ENJOY!

    Shave Soap & Aftershave

The Soap Destroyer did a number on the Eleven DFS LE soap whipping up a wonderful rich lather. The circle of death is expanding in the bottom of the container. I would guess somewhere around 10 shaves or so left before this one is done and dusted. Three passes and touch ups just managed to catch the baby. I did get a weeper chasing the little guy. I am off to a client site for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Interesting shave, Terry. I'm kinda surprised that you didn't load a fresh blade in each.

    Yes it was Jim!
One blade normally does one shave.
But I'm below 600 Feathe DE blades.
I Might need to ration them if they stop making them.

    timabababaluka No exceptions. Except.....

Awesome acquisition, shave, report, photo... everything! Sounds like a tricky, but highly rewarding configuration. Curious to see what the other baseplates are like :)

Does that brush handle have a series of diagonal grooves routed through it? Because awesome!
