    @Primotenore
Joseph, I got around to weighing the .68 Jaws with the Halo handle. 109 g with a blade in it. Right on the 108 they said it would be.

I believe you mentioned the Floating Head for a comparison. The Barbasol is a lightweight in comparison at 84 g
    IMG_4714.jpg
A few others for reference. I focussed on a few that I remember being hefty. The Occams is 104 g
    IMG_4709.jpg
and the New Improved (fairly heavy for a Gillette, imho) is a featherly 75 g. I don't have a TTO OC 'Crat. That might be the heaviest Gillette, iwt.

Fine looking shave, Danny! That Yaqui head looks awesome. Love everything I've ever heard about L'Orange Noir. :D

Thanks Jim! I know that I didn't cover everything, but I tried my best to give an overall synopsis of the last few month on this thread.

Hey! That Sandalwood is starting to look like the Death Star--eminent ring of death.

Fantastic set of shaves, Joe! Head shaves are like New York City--if you can make it there you'll make it anywhere. Sounds like you've got another shave platform mastered :D

Thank you Tim! I have only shave 2 more times with this razor to finish this mini focus. I can't wait to rejoin you, Patrick and Charlie with shavette shaves next week that will be sprinkled with traditional straights.

You can make soap last. I don't get much more than 40 shaves out of a new Stirling soap.

Very cool Jason. I thought the Jaws and Occam's were close to the same weight.

@jtspartan You asked earlier today what soaps I would get as a replacement. I just snagged a MdC Argumes on the Nook BST for a good price. I couldn't help myself. I bought a group package from The Shave Cadre supporting the forum and we will get one each from Stirling, CBL and Lisa's Natural in addition to some other goodies.

Kind of a weird thing. I was talking to my mom and mentioned I was shaving with a shavette. She got all excited, started rummaging through her closet for a minute or two, and retuned with this...

Turns out, about 4 or 5 years ago she found out that I was wet shaving and assumed I was using a straight. I told her I was planning to one day try straight shaving, but currently shaved with a DE.

Well, she ordered one from Whipped Dog for my birthday--6 months before my birthday. I guess you can figure out what happened; she forgot about it.

She was also curious and tried shaving with it a couple times before putting it away (for 4 years). It's not sharp. It'll shave hair, but it ain't easy, so I'll eventually have to look into honing, stropping, and refreshing options at some point in time, but still... I woke up today not even thinking about straights, and now I've got one--life is wonderfully weird. :)

That's very cool, Tim. For a guy trying to minimize his Den...how is the room addition coming along? ;)

My Bride's aunt is moving to an independent living facility, so she is downsizing. She has a straight razor, strop, and brush that belonged to her husband's grandfather for me. I'll post some photos once I get everything.

Thanks, Clint! My mom has always liked getting unique things for us. When I was 9 or 10 she bought me a nose flute. Yup, a nose flute...

Yeah, I've got some decision making to do in the upcoming months.

Can't wait to see the straight and accompanying paraphernalia--an heirloom shave set up is super cool! Congrats :D

Now, I know your mileage may vary buy I think the average # of shaves for a 4 oz puck is 100. So, a 5.8oz Stirling should give about 145 shaves. So, if you shave every day, then it would be about 5 months to finish the soap. You have soap destroyers so I can see that you use more soap than I do.
