Close to 4700 shaves which translates to about 13 yrs of shaving Jason. Well, you don't have to worry about running out of blades. Just think, if you were a shavette shaver, then it would be 26 yrs before you run out of blades.

2650 or so for shaves, Joe. I think the math was pretty accurate on it. 3 shaves for each of the 705 DEs, 7 shaves for each of the 46 Injectors and 6 shaves for the 20 SEs. Plus somewhere under 100 blades in open tucks. Yup, about 2650 or so for days... Although thanks for pointing out the Shavette blades- I do have about 15 or so Feather Pros I use in my CJB and Hawk...
I'm not quite in Charlie's league (yet)!

It's late and I am tired and didn't read your chart properly. So, it would be about 7.5 yrs for DE or 15 yrs for shavette shaves. Still that is a long time before you need to order more blades.

    Shavette Shave #17

So, when I saw that Charlie ramped up his blade choice to Feathers, I broke from my 30DC rule and switched to a Feather--I’m young and impressionable (read that as ‘old and stupid’). Besides… what could go wrong? :happy102:

I also am switching brushes. I’m in the process of converting my sister and my brother-in-law to wet shaving, and there is no more bomb-proof brush than the Stirling “Kong”--the Kong, 5 razors, a partial sample of shave soap, 5 or so Personna blades and my remaining Gem Carbon steel blades all have a new home. I’m very excited about this! :D

    Gear
    • Razor: The Max Headroom Focus R21 shavette
    • Blade: Feather (1)
    • Brush: Stirling Finest Badger (fan)--Gadzooks this a fantastic brush! I opted to face lather today, and it worked wonders. I pushed the limit on soap, with just enough lather to make two passes with a bit of squeezings left over; I like a little more just to be safe.
    • Soap: Soap Commander “Drive”
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Clubman Original
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave...
I went with another 2 pass (WTG/XTG) shave today--no touch ups. It is what it is. CCS, slightly rough chin, and no irritation. We have been advised to shelter at home (only going out for necessities), so I’m in no real hurry to sacrifice comfort for closeness. The Missus likes me a bit scruffy anyhow, and I like being liked ;)

Have an amazing Thursday! Be safe and be kind :D

Definitely not forgotten. I assumed since you moved to the boonies you internet was to slow to post. Glad to see you posting again.

It’s a smiling blade but I think what you see is a shadow.

Glad to see the Korean cartel’s contribution is still in use.

    Very nice, Jason! :eatdrink047:

Wanna trade watch spreadsheets too? ;)
Great first outing with the Feather blade, Tim! You've done incredibly well on your shavette focus so far, my friend.

It's fun to get others started in traditional shaving! Keep us posted on how your family members are progressing.

Even though you're sticking around home, you're still gonna wear a tie, right?

My motorcycle buddy, Wade shaves twice a week or around a 100 times a year. He finishes 2 artisan soaps a year or around 8 ounces of soap. Most artisan soaps are not triple milled or cured any longer than necessary which means they have a great deal of water still in the mix. Most are more of a croap or heavy cream than a soap. Stirling included. Triple milled or very hard soaps last me a very long time.
