Back to cloudy and chilly in the Lou and it's Spring already so what the?!?!?!?!?! Oh, wait, yeah. It's that time of year where it might be Spring in the morning, Winter by noon and then Summer back to Winter around dinnertime. Shouldn't even be surprised. The good news, though, is that it is a Friday and it's almost over! That means the weekend is here and, in spite of social distancing, everything entertaining being cancelled, and having to dodge viruses swirling around our heads, that's a very good thing!

The shave tonight is another very good thing. Another one with the Feather SS and Pro blade. Stayed with the El Caballero and used the Canuck to make mountains of lather. That flat top SynBad knot really does the trick. Three passes of smooth sharpness and I do believe I found the baby tonight. Didn't even have to try and chase the little devil. Hope you had a great Friday and hope you find something fun to do this weekend. Hey, there's always talking shaving, right??

I love this Gold Dachs soap so much but I use it perhaps once a year because it’s very difficult to find here in Canada and although I have some good friends in Germany where it comes from I don’t want to impose on them, although they would gladly send me more of it if I asked. The scent is so nice - it really screams old school, the lather is so rich, thick, as well as slick, and does it ever moisturize and soothe the skin well. The Bull Dog moisturizer is such a great balm, and the Booster Mosswood aftershave smells delightful (to me, but my wife hates it!) and it’s very popular in Canadian barbershops. Three passes with the brand new Shark blade gave me a perfect, comfortable BBS shave!

The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #391 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Luxor Pro Master with a Gillette Silver Blue half blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
