    Hemingway Accoutrements (Using it up)~~Simpson T2~~1908 Gillette Single Ring~~Sharp Star
    Third and final shave with the Sharp Star. It probably has a few more shaves in it, but I am not testing it.
    If I had to guess how many shaves remain in the Hemingway tub, I would only be guessing.
    I am considering using a tablespoon tomorrow. :p
    Nonethelesss, the Simpson with its worn out sticker really did a great job.

    What's funny, is that I have two "Made in England/Sterilized" stickers sitting in drawer waiting to be applied.
    My Persian Jar 3 needs a new one as well.
    112 years ago, our Gillette forefathers brought forth on this continent a new razor,
    conceived by King Gillette and dedicated to the premise that all men shall be clean shaven.
    It is in that proud tradition, I sallied forth and chose the oldest piece of shaving equipment in my den.
    It is with this antique, I cleaned off completely the 24 hour stubble on my kisser.
    For an old-timer, this razor has some moves. Under the nose? No probelem.
    Jaw line? Yup. Neck area...:shocked003: gimme a break!
    This sucker skated around my face better than, and I've coined this phrase in the past and therefore am now
    adding an official copyright to it, Dick Button at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland©

    Good morning

    Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

    Swapped out the .69SB baseplate in favor of the .90SB baseplate. If there's a difference in the amount of blade feel it's too subtle for me to notice. I did notice that I didn't have to make any angle corrections. I would like to think that my technique is so good that I maintained the perfect angle throughout each stroke. Yeah, but no, that's not the case. The .90 has a large enough sweet spot I was able to just pick up the razor and shave.

    Don't need the nitty gritty, but yes - I like the heavy handle on the DOC top end. I do my heavy scalp mowing with the short handled Schick, and follow up with a buffing pass using the Yaqi for a nearly stubble free shave. Still get the occasional nick bit I'm learning my limits and living with "good enough".

    That's the key Paul.

    SOTD 03212020 ASP.gif Used some of my favorite 30DC gear, a fresh Astra SP blade, and finished with a spritz of Juicy Couture Dirty English EDT, and some head wax. Scored one nick in the usual spot behind my left ear. Hoping one day that bump will heal up and no longer catch the blade.

    Considering the fact that the two plates feel like they have the same blade exposure, but the .90 has a larger sweet spot, do you see yourself going back to the .69 ever?

    Love the look of that DOC. I don't think I've ever seen that kind of Schick before (when you mentioned a short handled Schick in earlier posts, I envisioned something completely different). Really cool!
