Here's an easy game to play.
Here's an easy thing to say:
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!
    You can't say this?
    What a shame sir!
    We'll find you
    Another game sir.
If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel on another protocol,
That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall,
And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss
So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary risc,
Then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM.
Quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your mom!

Happy Sunday to anyone in here! Lazy day for me. Will be pulling some weeds and getting a much needed shave (3-day's worth) soon. Just chowing on some leftover curry chicken and seafood fried rice. Yum. Need to work on some pens and put some razors up for sale.

You (or whoever wrote that) owe Seuss some serious money. Sounds like a modified version of Hop On Pop. I used to love Seuss as a kid, but I've come to hate, hate, hate his work after reading that infernal book for the hundredth time in a row.

Lazy Sunday? I wish. I did manage to get in a much needed nap, but that was sandwiched between work. It's been very busy today, thus the no-posting thingy.

I have come to the realization that this semester is going to be very busy and tiring. This grad course is going to eat my dinner. I just hope I have the time and energy to post here every once in a while. :(

Anyway, I hope you all have an excellent week this week! :happy088

I'll always love Dr. Seuss, but yeah, I couldn't read his stuff everyday. Maurice Sendak strikes me much the same way; love him, but wouldn't want to read him daily.

Hope you're having some "me time" tonight, Mike.

Now, what brought that up? I still remember when I called Dom Ray (here in HYD - get your minds out of the gutter). Dom is kind enough to not call me buckshot very often. ;)

Ah, knew I'd heard it before, just couldn't quite place it. Thanks!

Busy is good - beats bored to tears anyway. Hope it's not too much. What grad course are you teaching?

yep. finally got a few moments. me, a beer, a computer, and no screaming children.

Gonna go watch some Battlestar Galactica with the wife in a few minutes. I got her interested a few months back by showing her the pilot episode. Now we're in the middle of the 3rd season. This is my second viewing of this season, and now I can say that the decline in quality is noticeable. It's just not as good as the 1st or even the 2nd season.

And the series never fully recovered after the 3rd season. I think I quit watching at that point and didn't bother getting caught back up until season 4.5. Then Season 5 found me tuning out again...

I think memories of the original series kept me from watching the remake. I know a lot of folks loved it, but I've never given it much of a chance. I suppose I should some time. I wasn't a STTNG fan until the series was nearly over, but then I caught it all many times over in reruns (still do when I can find it). Glad you've got your feet up, Mike. Hi Justin! Hi Bong!

yeah, same here, except it's my wife who will be starting her grad classes (as a student), along with teaching a new subject in a new school...after tonight, I hope to be able to squeeze a post in here or there, maybe it won't be as bad as I'm dreading, but it's gonna be hectic (along with the kids' soccer, basketball, dance, piano, homework...)
