Terrific shave and pic Clint! Wow! The granule gremlins are moving cross state lines. They are determined little critters. Hope that they don't stay too long. May you pass your physical with flying colors.

I think I wrote earlier that Calvin and Hobbes was one of my Mom's favorite cartoons to read in her newspapers(wherever we lived). They certainly showed their approval in that one, left and right. :)

Super shave Paul! Are you trying out a new shaving term- blooming a brush?

Your dear Mom must have had an incredible sense of humor, Paul. May your heart be filled with sweet memories of her today.

I can see the light at the end of this shave crème tunnel.
My homage to Menthol Monday was an application of some Proraso Pre-Shave cream.
This little jar was returned to me from my son, with perhaps a half-dozen applications remaining.
The scent is almost an exact dupe of the Noxzema cream; very heavy on the eucalyptus.
I am not a huge fan of pre-shave products, but this one does seem to set the skin up nicely for the shave.
Large dollop of the HA into the soaked and shaken-out Simpson and to the face.
Have to be conscious of not abusing this terrific knot, so I avoid---as much as possible,
mashing and scrubbing. Some is inevitable, but I try to stick with mostly paint brush strokes.
This is my favorite handle from Simpson and it is such a pleasure to use.
New blade today. Back to the Gillette Platinum. Single-wrapper, very minimal glue dot.
The blade is sharp, mos def© but not quite as smooth as the Sharp Star or Voskhod.
The Old Type is very light in the hand. One must resist the urge to press,
as this razor will bite you at a moment's notice.
Performed a three-pass shave, with only one red line on the left side of my chin.
I didn't even feel it at the time. It didn't bleed, but the epidermal layer was breached.
Finished with...you guessed it, the HA tonic. A healthy tablespoon liberally applied.

It certainly is, and the C&H cartoon is a big help. I think that's what brought my parents together-their mutual appreciation of positive-minded humor(that is, as opposed to the cynical kind). Course they weren't my parents when they first met, but...>AHHHH YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN :).

Well, I meant, keeping it under the tap a little longer than I did today. I like to moisten it SOMEWHAT. But I see what you're saying :).

Despite the little mishap, it still was a nice shave, Joseph! I like the beehive handle and I guess it makes it easier to grip the brush.

Thank you guys. I am sure the physical will be fine. Charlie I really like the way the Karve turned out. The finish moved the razor from the sell group to the keep group. The grains in the aftershave were just nasty Joe. I will be getting rid of the aftershave as soon as the soap is finished if not sooner.

First rate shave and report as usual Joseph.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! The Green Ray brush was a fantastic choice for this marvelous menthol Monday shave. I am really enjoying your exploration of these two Eastern Block razors, btw :D

Also, I didn't know Lemony Orange was a thing--thought I had a handle on most of the Stirling options.

Wonderful shave, photo, and report, Clint! That brush handle is beautiful. :D

When I first read about the granules in the AS, I thought you were just giving Joseph a hard time--granules in aftershave? How is this a thing?

Thank you Tim. I am not joking. It feels like sand in the aftershave. Just nasty.
