    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I may appear bullet-proof, but I've learned over the years that about the time I brag about it, or even think I'm just that great - blood is about to pour. So thanks......but I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that. ;)

    SOTD:
This week i decided to use my South African made soaps exclusively, and boy was i glad that i did! I forgot how good the reitzer perfect shave is, super slick soap, i just absolutely hate the small diameter container, so ill have to remove the puck and load the brush from a larger container.

The palmshave performed wonderfully too, definitely one of my slickest creams, even though quite a lot is needed to get a decent lather.

Ive forgotten how well the derby extras perform, they're definitely one of my favourite blades even though theyre on the opposite end of the spectrum compared to my favourite blades the feather's. They really have impressed me with their longevity, and for the price the derbys are definitely hard to beat.

Went to a new shop today that sells imported goods and found these two beauties at a bargain price!

I should have enough aftershaves for the next decade now lol.

    Shave 1:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword classic
    Blade: derby extra (3)
    Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave
    Cream: palmshave lime
    Aftershave: brut by Fabergé

    Shave 2:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword classic
    Blade: derby extra (4)
    Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave
    Soap: reitzers perfect shave
    Aftershave: brut by Fabergé

    Shave 3:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword classic
    Blade: derby extra (5)
    Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave
    Soap: bundubeard coffee
    Aftershave: brut by Fabergé

My shaving posts will definitely be getting more frequent, at 7:30 last night the president announced that the entire South Africa Will be going into lockdown for 21 days starting on Thursday at midnight.

Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

    A great day, good morning!
Decided to get out a razor I haven't used for a while, and a soap I've all but forgotten.
The scent is great, but the performance is lacking in my water, sad to say.
If I could get it to lather better I'd be fine with it.
I can't get the lather to stay for long either, that's my hard water for you.
It hangs around just long enough for the pass and that's all.
The Red Tip is my favorite out of all of the super speeds.
With a new Feather blade installed it does a good job.
I've seen where some post on the web state that it is a really aggressive tool.
I humbly disagree, it's a good razor, but no brush hog.
    20200324_071136.jpg
One of my first brushes, one of my first soaps, a good razor and blade combo.
This was a good shave, a year ago it would have been a great shave.
Two years ago it would have been a fantastic shave.
3 years ago it would have been somthing I could have only dream about.
No issues, clean, smooth and ready for the day.
    All
    ENJOY!

    Shave Soap & Aftershave

I love the scent of Fine Aquamarine. It opens with a very strong citrus note. I almost made out tangerine or orange this morning. The citrus fades away to an aquatic green scent that stays throughout the shave. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. A splash of the matching aftershave and I am off to the office to work on business property tax returns. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Monday and Tuesday shaves: After Tuesday I think there is just one shave left in the tub of WCS, good stuff.

Back to work Monday is a DE shave, my trusty Joris with a Gillette 7 O'Clock blue (Russian) delivered an excellent shave.

Tuesday it is back to the straights, a 6/8 full hollow Nichiri, despite a lot of shaves on this edge it still sharp and smooth like velvet.

I'm not a prisoner so going into the office each day, fortunately no one at work caught Corona but we do take lots of precautions. Seiko Cocktail Time is the watch fo the day.

Wow! This picture really shows off the patina on your Karve. Great job!

Thank you Jim. I know the patina might not be to everyone's taste but I am really happy with the way the Karve antiquing turned out.

Good morning-I was on my way to giving my shave a super grade UNTIL noticing much too late that there was missed astroturf on the right side again. I really thought things went well. My focus for tomorrow and beyond will be to SLOW the shave down on the right side-to make sure there's no astroturf left. If it takes 5 touchups, let it. As for the overall shave, I was quite pleased. Added some loading time as well as some brush-moisturizing time(based on the Soap Exchange instructions we talked about yesterday). But the general consensus I got from, your suggestions appeared right-a synthetic brush is strong enough not to go with a REAL long load. 2 fine passes, tiny weeper along the lip(lower)during pass #2. As I did a few days ago, I'll LOWER my grade to Pretty Excellent. Mighta been lower, except for the nice finish from Agadir(Oud Wood)A.S.

For the survey, I know I projected Top Yes as the winner going away, but we now see that Bottom Yes is making a move.

Joe, I think you were the one who said you load for one whole minute....is that with something other than a synthetic? I did 40 this morning(seconds)-longer than I hAd ever done, but it didn;t make much of a difference compared to previous loadings.
