    That's great to hear, Bill. I'm glad you're getting good rest. That makes such a big difference in how you feel.

    No worries here on the home front. I'll keep an eye on @brit. I already called him out today for posting a 'stang without flames. Sweet dreams. :)

    Wonderful shave, report, and photo, Clint. I want life back to normal, pronto--but I will say that the silver lining to this storm cloud is how peaceful everything is. At least outside. Inside, our house is an insane asylum :happy102:

    Thanks Tim! Yes, I have used only one bowl since the 2nd bowl lathering. I only have 4 bowl lathers so far, but I will answer your question about the difference between lathers. There really isn't much of a difference between bowl lathers and face lathers. I can get a yogurty, glistening lather from both. I can exfoliate with a face lather, but bowl lathers just need to be painted. Therefore, I would say that bowl lathering would be preferred for shavers with sensitive skin. I like that I can avoid a mess by keeping my brush on a bowl while shaving. I guess I can do so when I am facelathering, but I keep it standing up while shaving. Fimally, it is another method in my arsenal. When I started coming here, I was a shavette, straight, DE face lathering shaver. Now, I can add SE and bowl lathering shaver to my resume.

    Thanks Patrick! That was my best bowl lather after my 4th try.

    I like both, too, but bowl lathering really allows for the best hydration. Th down-side is the lather can take on too much air.

    @Bama Samurai
    For some reason I can't open your video. From what I read above, I am sorry to hear about your job.

    Yes, I agree you can make the lather too fluffy.

    Fair enough! Interestingly, I don't find it too uncomfortable... It's not as good as my Fatip for smoothness, but nothing gets me as close under my chin! A trade-off, I suppose...

    I was never bored by it. I tried my EFBT again quite recently. I just can't get as close as I can with my Fatip and R41 :sad024:

    Today's shave was a rare(ish) outing for my R41. I paired this with a Rapira Platinum Lux blade (a first time for me). This blade is in a box with a few other tucks of blades that I haven't used before - generously gifted to me by a member on another forum. I have some Personna Blues, Bics, Polsilvers, GSBs, Zazas, Bolzanos and others that I cannot recall off the top of my head.I'll be fooling with those I guess...

    ... So much for discipline and focus!

    Stay safe gentlemen!

    Edit: Today's shave was uneventful. 3 passes to DFS+. I didn't chase the baby, and I just left the slight roughness on the jawline be. Happy enough!

    A stunning pic, Jim. Sounds like you've got a fun challenge on your hands- getting that aggressive baseplate dialed in smoothly.
