Very entertaining as always, Joseph. You mentioned this as one of the few 'grail razors' in shavedom. I wonder what your list of Grail Razors looks like?

Glad to hear the sleeps are going well, Bill. Also glad to hear we weren't a cure for Insomnia...:)

Very nice, Joe. Might I ask why you put the Nivea on overtop of a double shot of Aftershave?

    Thank you, Jason.
First impression puts the Smart with the 1.18 baseplate up there with my Timeless Bronze OC as far as blade feel. It will be a challenge.

Just beautiful, Clint. Congrats on the soap as well.
Great minds today- I made French toast for my wife and kids while they slept in as well. I then had to shuffle off to do about 4 hours of paperwork afterwards, but such is life.

I do this because the alcohol dries my face. Also, it is one of the main reasons that this old man does not look like an old man. Lol!

Maximo Gomez is a fave of mine too, Patrick. I'm sure when my last tub is empty, I'll give the new company/formula a try. The scent is worth trying to see if they nailed it.
Those Fine soaps are a really good price if you can get the older refill pucks without the small tubs. $17 or so Canadian for A LOT of shaves.

Same here, Joe. I always use unrefined shea butter along with my alcohol-based aftershaves.

I have Van der Hagen shave butter that I use as a skin tonic because it has Shea Butter. Shea Butter is also very good for the skin.

@Bama Samurai Chris I am sorry about the job. When one door closes, God opens another one.

Thank you, Jason. I think everyone's "Grail List" would look slightly different.
I am still on the look out for an Eclispse Red Ring and a Cooper Monobilt, which closes correctly.

Thank you Jason. The pollen here had my allergies screaming today. I am hopeful, I will be able to get some work done tomorrow.

I like the last part of your message. I'm 62 and don't quite LOOK the part, except for loss of hair. Much of it still blond! But I do indeed think I am beginning to "feel" 62.

    Well said Joe!

    Very nice James!
I am kinda hoarding the Maximo Gomez as it is a real treat to enjoy. The Fine seems like it will go a long way from the lathers I'm making with minimal soap. I may survive the apocalypse.

Oh, I agree. Just interested to see what makes your Grail List/Mt. Rushmore/Mustobtains.

Sorry about the allergies. I recommend Four Roses...
I wanted to ask you what spurred the Broman purchase? It looks like a fairly straightforward 1/2 DE blade transition razor from using Carts. Have you heard it is a great shaver?

No reason at all. May have been the Four Roses. I made another razor purchase that I have been debating for a couple of weeks. I ordered a Blackbird SB in machined brass. I had debated waiting on the black oxide but I have been so happy with my antiquing of the Karve that I decided to give brass a go. I will wait until I am sure I won't be returning the razor before changing the finish.

Congrats on the Brassbird, Clint! I hope it works out for you because I'm anxious to see it antiqued.

I ordered another razor myself. Charcoal Goods is relocating in August and he's not sure if he'll continue making razors after the relocation. I went ahead and ordered a LvL3 in stainless just in case they become unobtanium.
