    J.A. Henckels 5/8

    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #395 two-band badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels 5/8 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

King Pelican 14 user, soap was PdP lathered with a Keyhole 3, and a dab of SMN lavender AS finished up a fine Saturday morning shave.

Each time I try the razor is getting better. But it is not finished. The cheeks are absolute smoot, but part of the chin is not close enough.

Took a hiatus from the smaller Heljestrands and pulled out the big gun... a Heljestrand 14.

    7/8” of Swedish fun.

By coincidence I also pulled out my frameback today. Wasn’t sure about the first two passes but the third left little for touch up. :happy036:

Shave #88 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero, still shavin’ on. Cream was AdP lathered with Simpsons 57, and AdP balm finished up. Great shave and fragrance for a spring morning. And no, the blade has not been touched up or anything, the little kiita is a prop, literally to hold the razor up, and give me something different image wise. I was getting bored with the same compositions.

One thing that I have noticed, when you have a lot of mileage on the edge, the soap noticeably matters, and price doesn’t seem to be a factor. I haven’t done any soap testing, but I intend to. So far, the best soaps have been 3P (one of the cheapest), AoS Ocean Kelp, AdP (one of the most expensive), I Coloniali Mango, ABC hard soap, and Santa Maria Novella (pricey, but a generous 220ml jar).
