  5. I was under the impression that you can only be tested if you exhibited signs of it.
  6. Found some razors on top of the freezer? Sounds like classic signs of a shavaholic: Do you hide razors all over the house? Do you often shave alone? Do you tell others you could quit shaving anytime?

Awesome looking razors, Terry! It's selfish of me, but I kind of hope you keep finding those misfits :D

I'm still laughing over that...

    Shavette Shave #26--”Chasing the Lion”

    Gear
    • Razor: The Max Headroom Focus R21 shavette
    • Blade: Feather Hi Steel--used the 2nd half of a blade I used a couple weeks ago… because I can!
    • Brush: Semogue Boar--I love this brush, but it shed 2 more bristles today.
    • Soap: Soap Commander “Drive”... is on it’s last few breaths, but it’s fighting the good fight.
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Avon Wild Country (with a half drop of Frost Drops to make it feel special)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave...
Sunday. Chase Day. I decided to go full out by grabbing the 2nd half of a Feather, loading up the Max Headroom Focus R21 shavette and embarking on a mission to catch the baby. The game plan was a 3 pass shave utilizing a standard WTG for the 1st pass, Blair’s (@b1hart ) “skinny X” WTG for a 2nd, and going ATG for the 3rd.

The first two passes went wonderfully and gradually reduced the growth with no irritation. Or blood. Could this be the day I don’t get a weeper when using a shavette? *Spoiler alert! No.*

3rd pass went very smoothly as well, but as expected, required a bit of chasing. The chin especially likes to play hard to get, but I did reasonably well. Could have continued scraping away, but I was happy with the results, and worrying the area was just going to cause greater irritation for diminished closeness returns--not worth it. About 2 minutes away from the finishing, I set the blade down poorly (using my left hand). There’s that compulsory blood! How could it be a shavette shave otherwise? It went on its merry way after the cold water rinse, and the styptic was able to accumulate a little more dust.

Got myself a BBS/DFS with very little irritation--almost none--a rare occurrence for me. I was feeling so good that I decided to try out a new tie knot I ran across last week--sort of a variation of the Trinity knot. It’s technical name is The Bermuda Triangle knot, but for some stupid reason I’ve been calling it ‘Google Drive’ in my head...

Probably only have 2 or 3 shaves left from the Soap Commander. You can see the black through the soap down to the bicycle inner tube I use to keep the soap from pushing through the grid on the bottom. It’s hard to see in the photo though…

Hope everybody enjoys this wonderful Sunday in the best way you know how. Be safe!

    Shavette Shave #153
    Dovo Shavette
    Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (5)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Spice SS and AS
    Nivea ASB
    Good afternoon guys!.
I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I needed a pick me up shave because the weather is gloomy and rainy on LI.
Decided to use my Rocky to facelather. I soaked the brush to wet my face and unknowingly loaded the brush without getting the excess water out of it so I get this bubbly, watery mess. Lol! No biggie, I just reloaded the brush with plenty of soap and went over the watery preshave. As Bob Ross would say, it was a happy little accident. I could have done a one passer and be fine with it. I mean, where am I going and who am I going to see, but me this evening. However, I continued with another 1.5 passes because I like the Stirling Spice scent. This was an IBSS+ shave that didn't have irritation or blood loss. Finished the shave with a liberal amount of aftershave and Nivea. Guys have a nice evening and stay safe. 20200329_170156.jpg 20200329_170156.jpg

  12. Terrific shave and report, Tim!
I only wear a tie once or twice a year and I think I've tied a knot very similar to that on accident.
    Wonderful shave, Joe!

  13. Awesome, awesome shave, Joe! Honestly, I don't need to shave every day, and could probably get away with once a week if I wanted to (doesn't feel all that professional, but I don't technically have to shave)--I do it for me. It's relaxing, and can be a fantastic mood-changer... especially on those gloomy, grey, depressing days.

Your shave even made me smile! ;) :D

    And thanks, Jim! :D

  15. Awesome shave Tim! Three passes and very little blood is excellent in book! I would say that by shave #50 that the chin will no longer be a trouble spot. You are past the point of no return and will definitely make 100 shavette shaves. I feel your excitement. Keep moving forward toward the prize.
  16. Thanks Tim. Critical mass for me is 36 hrs before I really need to shave to look good.
  17. Thanks Jim! I felt that I needed this shave for my emotional well-being.
  18. Thanks, Joe! If the chin ever stops being a trouble spot with the shavette, then the shavette will have done what no DE razor has managed accomplish ;) :happy102:
