Thank you, Jim. All is going well here. My motivation for shaving just isn't there lately. Working from home, I roll out of bed, get the coffee make going and start working. I don't shower until sometime in the afternoon, and shaving late in the day doesn't fit my routine. I only shave the days I get out bed and shower first thing in the morning.

How's the refinery getting along up there? This lack of fuel consumption is getting to be rough. I also saw you were feeling a bit under the weather. Everything OK?

Blade Trial - Shave #1
Blade - Rapira Platinum Lux
Razor - Fatip Grande
Brush - Yaqi Tuxedo
Soap - TOBS Peppermint
Post - Proraso Green Balm

First blade up was the Rapira Platinum Lux. I went for a new approach today (and I won't be using it again) - WTG and XTG both ways. This left me needing more than a little cleanup and basically a 4th pass. This resulted in more irritation than usual and dozens of tiny weepers on my neck and jawline. These weepers were history after a shower and the balm. I didn't feel any problems with the blade during the shave - it was sharp and smooth. The post shave feel is also fantastic!

I'll give this blade a 7.5/10 for sharpness and comfort.

I will revisit blades that score more than 6/10 in my tests. Next blade up is the Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum (Blacks).

 

Paul, I enjoyed riding along with you this month. Keep up the great shaves!

 

They are getting better, that's a fact. It's all about "brush control" for me.
