  4. Wow. Congrats Jim. The razor is gorgeous. I will not be tempted. I will not be tempted. :angry032::angry032: But I am.
  5. Thank Blair and Gary.
  6. absolutely Joe,riding the cap equalizes most gillettes..TTT..the adjustables included..can't speak for other brands but gillettes are blade holders that control blade rigidity and angle..technique with the blade delivers the shave..;)like a race car with 3 drivers, different drivers experience different results, the car theoretically stays the same..you know what i mean..:)
  7. Well, I have never had a problem with shaving my mustache with the Fatboy. First, I am blessed with a small nose with a tip that doesn't hang over the mustache area. Second, I angle the head at 45° as I shave so that I can get right under the nostrils and a good XTG swipe. FWIW, I think it is important to tailor your razor maneuverability based on your facial contours, but then again, you guys knew that already.
  8. Thank you, Joe!
    Thanks, Clint!
I'd like to say I'm done but there's another modern 'artisan' razor I keep looking at.

Early morning shave, afternoon post. In honour of Chris's shave stick focus, I will use the awesome Palmolive Stick once a week or so. For razors and software in general, I will try to use gear that hasn't seen usage in the past few focuses. The 'Crat Jr fits that bill for today, as does the Sharp Star. This razor is probably a Canadian Rocket, as that is how these British Crat Jrs were distributed in Canada- in Rocket cases. I don't have the case, though, so I can't prove that. Got it on the cheap in a small town Alberta antique shop and it is a quality shaver. I mentioned yesterday that I prefer Gillette 3 pieces, but this is still a useful tool...shiny, too, but I did a lousy job of cleaning it before the pic.:ashamed001:
Love this Palmolive stick, and it had been too long. Whipped up a fantastic lather and had 3 easy passes. A little was left on my lower neck, but I didn't really chase it. One tiny weeper as well. Overall, a nice shave, and I look forward to going back over the first 12 (!) pages of the thread a little later.
    Have a great day all.
  10. awesome shave and pic Jason, good afternoon..
  11. Thank you Clint! I am doing fine. My daily routine is to go to my local 7-11 for my cup of Joe and the daily rag. I follow with a 30 to 45 minute walk so I get some exercise and fresh air. Finally, I return home to eat, listen to the radio, read and doing other essential things to keep me occupied. Thanks for asking. Hope you and your family is doing well.
  12. Nice, Tom! I knew if anyone was down for an Arko April, it'd be you, sir :D
  13. Nice, Jason! Love the picture!
  14. Good heavens! I didn't think there'd be anything that impressed me more than your Apollo Smart Helix--this is coming very close :D
  15. Very nice blues, Gary. Looks like you are keeping that awesome NEW focus going for a bit longer. Good afternoon, sir...
  16. Its fantastic to see you posting again, Jeff! The new Colonial is a great looking shaver, indeed. I'm super jealous of the 007 etching on Evan's handiwork, fyi!

  20. Love the B&W, Clint. A splash of L'Orange Noir is a great way to end any shave in my books. Hope working from home will allow you to do what you need to do.
