Fair play! I know many believe that the R41 is best used with the blade almost perpendicular to the face. I myself fall somewhere in between the extremes!

    Razor: Charcoal Goods LvL3
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay Veratrum
    Pre-shave: PAA The Cube
    Soap: A&E Cacao Lussuria
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: A&E Cacao Lussuria

    Good morning

Terrific shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Slightly warmer than usual alum at the corners of my mouth. Second shave with the LvL3 and my opinion hasn't changed. So much blade feel it does feel likely to bite with the slightest mistake.

    Have a great day!

Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - PS Tube 2.0, SS & AS/C Pineapple Bay Rum, ASB Star Jelly
    Omega EVO
    Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple

2 pass DFS+ shave today with light neck/jawline buffing, on ~48 hours of growth (as yesterday was 100% yard duty).

PAA's Pineapple Bay Rum....a very fun aroma! Pineapple, West Indies Bay Rum (no clove!)....summer fragrance? I think not. :innocent If you're wondering what PBR smells like....see an oldie but a goodie (inset).

The Omega EVO created an awesome yogurty goodness this morning, super slick and overflowed the bowl. Lather slinging fun with a mix of face lathering and painting. This NOS Filarmonica DT 13 visited CrOx pasted linen then bridle leather....& made for a super smooth shave. No shenanigans.

Hope everyone has a Fabulous Friday!

some razors have a positive blade exposure compared to others-meaning- the blade sticks out beyond the cap/guard.this could be one of those razors.not sure as i don't own or tried one.

The TARs actually change the blade exposure a bit as well throughout the adjust range, so they do get more aggressive as they are dialed up.

I'll guess that matching that shave 'dialed back' will be more challenging.

If I'm in a 'ride the cap, edge, and guard' senerio, the only user options left are speed and pressure. Both options require exacting precision.

I do have a tool requiring pressure. Basically you are riding the cap and guard all the time. The blade only touches by the use of pressure and you really can't get more than 'just enough'. It requires 4-6 passes, but can win the irritation free cottonball award.

Shaving at 10 would be no different from shaving at 6. You are 'on the cap' and 'on the edge'.
