  4. soooo, it's not my witty banter, it's the challenge of passing a moving vehicle, not a stalled one?
    :happy097
  5. Oh your witty banter is just fuel to keep me going :D

Sorry... the tune just popped into my head this morning for some reason. Its not like I can post this morning's [NSFW] XKCD [/NSFW] on here.
  6. Justin, glad I can help.....I think

    Man, holy googely magoogely moogely!

so, today is one of those rare days where I make more than one aeropressing of coffee, but midway through the process of the second round, I had to answer a call.
So, hot water was poured into the tube, coffee stirred for ~10 seconds...I started off doing this one ever so slightly different, for experiment's sake - I put 3/4 cup of water in, brought the level to around 2 I believe, and was going to let it set, with the plunger in to slow draining, for about 30 seconds.
Phone call, short one, but had to open up Active Directory and check on a couple of things...got off the call, proceeded to answer a couple of emails, then remembered - THE COFFEE.
probably a good 5 minutes passed.
finished the press, added the other 3/4C/6 oz - holy jabberwocky!

  7. Good day all. Too much coffee. Ugh. I've got the shakes.
  8. Jim's gonna be up with the late shift tonight. :D
  9. A) honestly, caffeine doesn't have that strong an effect on me. Many times i wished it did, but I'll sleep just fine tonight...maybe :D

    B) purely by chance...honestly...I just stumbled across this: but before I linky-linky, let me first pique your curiosity a tad:
*Do you love french pressed coffee, and have a press at home as your primary weapon of java preparation?
*Do you wish you could use your FP at work, but cleanup is too big of a hassle?
*Do you have an aeropress at work (or otherwise) because it's more convenient to cleanup, even though you like french press better?

Looks like the folks at Bodum have come up with the solution.
Looks like this was just released last month.

So great, now another product I'm going to have to buy...at some point...later down the road...*clicky-clicky*...because I can't right now...*enters card info*....and besides...*enters shipping address*....I just can't justify another coffee gadget....*changes shipping info to work address*....so I'll wait a few weeks....*order complete*.....

    :D
  10. You're welcome! I'm glad to see that it's keeping your razor nice and toasty. I'm glad it fit!

Well, I know someone who's razor is going to be cold this winter...

You tell 'em! I'll be making the pattern available before too long, for anyone else who wants to knit one. I think I'll release it under the OSL.

  11. Just make sure you don't let us know how awesome the new system isn't when you don't get it. ;)
  12. Who can tell me what's wrong with this picture?
    Capture.jpg
  13. Besides the $8 New and 20$used?

I saw that picture earlier on Amazon. It certainly looks like the mug is backwards, but I haven't had time to really figure out what this thing does.
  14. I've got an insulated travel mug that has a screen which fits in a little groove inside the mug... you pour in your hot water and your grounds, let it steep for a few minutes then use the screen to push the grounds to the bottom. Makes a decent cup, though that last few swallows can be rather oily. Not a bad purchase for the princely sum of
    the price (open)
    $1
  15. ding ding ding! We have a winner!
  16. your mug is a french press, it's just built in to the mug.
that new device is basically the same thing, just with the press removable, to avoid that problem you described of the last few swallows - which, honestly, when drinking pressed coffee, many people leave anyway.
of course, the aeropress remedies that problem having a paper filter, but then you don't have true french pressed coffee, but then you have the problem of the last swallow, which most people who drink pressed coffee just throw out, unless they've pressed from an aeropress which has a paper filter and remedies that problem, but then you don't have a true french pressed coffee, but then you have.......
(waiting for Micah to Bel-Air this....)
  17. Yeah I have seen the travel all-in-one press&mug in a few places. However, they never convinced me that it was a good idea. Of course, they didn't offer it at that price either.
  18. To get it at that price, you must first pass the door! The doooooooooor! The DOOR, CHARLIE!!!!

  19. Don't care for those unicorn videos really.
  20. ...but they love you!!!
