  1. excellent shave sir!
  2. Welcome aboard, Jake! I'm anxious to see the progress you make over the next 30 days.
I was guilty myself of changing gear all the time when I first started out. It wasn't until I joined the Crew and did a couple of rules that things turned around. If you have any questions be sure to ask. We're here to help.
  3. Thanks, James! You’d think an old codger like me would know enough to stick with what works!

  4. Thanks, Myles! How are things in Georgia? Wearing face masks yet?
  5. Thank you, James!

  6. How true, Joe! I wish I didn’t feel the need to experiment! Voskhods work great in the razor! Already know that Feathers don’t do well in it. So why do I pick the second sharpest blade? Duh!
  7. Thanks James!
    Will do!

  9. Excellent shave report and photo Jeff.
  10. Welcome to the 30 day crew Jake. Sounds like a great setup for 30 days. I look forward to following your progress throughout the month.
  11. Welcome Jake! Sounds like you’re starting with some good solid gear! The key is no pressure on the razor which is contrary to cartridge shaving technique. Let the weight of the razor do the work. Place the head of the razor flat against your cheek with the handle extending out 90 degrees. Slowly lower the handle until you feel the razor begin to cut. That’s your cutting angle. Then try to maintain that angle as you ‘ride the cap’ remembering no pressure. You’ll even see the term ‘negative pressure’ bandied about. That’s what we’re trying to achieve when we say no pressure. Welcome! I look forward to following your posts as you join us here doing what we all love! Have fun!
  12. Thanks, Clint! You shave your Ambassador with a Feather blade, don’t you? I was wondering why you were so content at 3. Now I get it!
  13. Thank you James and that is really good question. The Brassbird and Karve D SB are very similar. They both have enough blade feel to let you know you're shaving without the immediate threat of being bitten. For me both razors were intuitive from the first shave. I find both to be smooth razors that are very efficient.

  17. Welcome to the world of wetshaving and the 30DC thread Jake! What made you decide to wetshave?
  18. Great write-up and shave, Jeff. I think most would agree about the blades, it was the same for me when I tried out the Rockwells. I have some samples coming in the mail which I'm eager to try out!
  19. I'm still on the DE89 and am having such good shaves, I'm going to stick with it for this month.

This mornings shave was quick and easy and now 8 hours later it's still amazingly smooth.
  20. Entertaining shave report, as always! Nice pic! I like Mike’s Hungarian Lavender, myself!
