Actually, it is separating different liquid substances due to differences in boiling point. Basically, you heat the solution and at a certain boiling pt, a substance turns into a gas and you collect it in a condenser that runs to a covered flask and you collect the condensed liquid. Continue heating to another boiling pt and do the same thing by collecting another substance. Obviously, you continue the process until there isn't any more liquid to heat or when you know that you have the last liquid substance.

Evan, it’s all about strength of character! Remember when I announced no new razor orders in 2020? Well I fell off the wagon.:(

Lovely shave, Tim! It’s all muscle memory, and I would bet that focusing so much on angle with your blade forward shaving can only benefit your safety razor efforts.

no apology required sir..after my departure from wrenching i have healed up quite well, some aches in the joints still though..i decided i wanted some mobility for my older years instead of burning myself up for the man.he got rich,i got worn out...eyes aren't as good anymore either affecting my hand eye stuff.decided to smell the roses more and use my brain more instead.building my models again before its too late..lots of small bits..straight and shaving is an art ,i agree, but i have no desire to learn it.i also know me pretty good.there will be a room full of rocks, strops, cool vintage blades..cameras ,watches,...you know the drill..:)..i chose my path sir..:eatdrink047:

    Good afternoon guys!
    1955 Gillette SS RedTip (A4)
    Rockwell Blade (?)
    Jayaruh Silvertip Badger #386
Music City Suds Lavender SS and AS
    Nivea ASB
It is rare that my shaves are less than 30 hrs apart and more so, with shaving 3 days in a row. Anyway, when my stubble is still light, I pick out my Redtip because it is one of my least aggressive razors. Two and a half passes gave my an in between smooth shave plus plus (IBSS++) For the new guys, an IBSS shave is between a damn fine shave (DFS) and a baby butt smooth shave (BBS). Obviously, an IBSS++ is close to a BBS shave. No weeps, cuts or irritation appeared at the end of this shave. I like this lavender scent of the soap and after shave. Finished with the Nivea balm. Feeling so much better after this shave. Have a great afternoon guys! 20200405_161152.jpg 20200405_161152.jpg

Have you decided on the blade? I know you like Wilkinson’s and GSBs. I always like Voskhods in a new razor.

Great shave report, Joe! If you ever go on a vacation, and need a half goombah who can’t spell Italian to watch that brush for you, I’m your huckleberry! :D

I completely understand. I went the other way and primarily chose straight shaving. Every shaver makes a decision that is best for him as to what type and brand of razor will be his main focus. I have enough different types of razors to keep me from going further into the rabbit hole. At tbis point, unless I get a good deal on a 14 N Filarmonica (stainless steel) or somehow get a nice windfall to get a custom straight, then my purchases will be limited to soaps, DE, SE and hairshaper blades.
