Snapped this picture of some of my favourites in my collection. It's growing at an alarming rate. The dream/goal is to have the correct case, blade pack and instruction booklet for all of them so I can add them to my display, which is currently just the 3 complete sets I have on top of my desk in our office/hobby room/craft room/. It is 3 full sets now for anyone keeping track I just got the instruction booklet I needed for my 1940's super speed!
fine collection so far Jake..watch the teeth on those open combs,if they are too bent they may cause you issues.if you can ,spend a few $ more and pick up examples with less issues.plating and repair services are quite pricey..where a nice original clean example will be way less in the long run..i have spent some $on certain sets due to rarity, but it was cheaper than repairing a basketcase..good luck..
Thanks for the advice @brit I really appreciate it and welcome it whole heartedly. Believe it or not I've actually had some pretty decent luck so far when it comes to condition of items I've purchased I don't think I've come across a bent comb yet, although I may have just jinxed myself.......
no problem ,i was seeing the bent teeth on you lc razors in your pic.....the should be ok though.if you try to straighten them they will break...the brass has to be annealed before you can straighten them..
Thank You Gary, and yes, the rfb seems to balance out better for me with the Fat Handle. I like the looks better too. Now if I could find an original Fat Handle that was 3/8 of an inch longer.
one possibly exists..i thought i saw one once..will check it out...a ball end tech handle balances the razor well but is still skinny..or you can add weight to the fat handle with tungsten putty,or small ball bearings and white glue..will keep you posted..lots of aftermarket stainless or nickel plated brass handles out there as well, check out ikon or razorock ,many others.
I bought a ball end tech handle and am not a fan. I do like the Tech Fat Handle but would like it a touch longer. I have all kinds of leaded tape (golf club builder) but the weight isn't the issue, it's just a touch short. For sure there will be none that will manufacture one, there isn't the market for it.
