Thanks, Bill! The shave from the Super was much closer, but the blades don’t appear to hold an edge as long, despite fervent palm stropping on my part. I’m looking forward to trying the Super out in my Vector. A friend on one of the Facebook shave sites said it was a winning combination.

    Razor: Carbon Shaving Cx-316L
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: Simpson Trafalgar
    Pre-shave: PAA The Cube
    Soap: CF Midnight Stag
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: CF Midnight Stag

    Good morning

Great first shave with the Carbon razor! Good amount of blade feel and riding the cap was intuitive. What wasn't intuitive was how to grip the handle going south to north. It did feel awkward at first but once I found what felt comfortable my hand just fell into place from then on. Three passes for near BBS. Not a whisper from the alum.

Midnight Stag. Polarizing off the wall scent that I enjoy. Off the puck I get mostly leather with the other scents falling to the background. It's easier to pick the differing scents out in the aftershave where the smoke really makes its presence known.

    Have a great day![IMG]

Thanks for the advice, Clint. You didn't order the Medicated Thayer's, did you?

Another busy day ahead. We have so many clients with questions about the small business SBA disaster programs that it really makes for a jam packed day when layered on the normal tax work. At least we are able to help some and stay busy which in times like these is a blessing. I am trying my best to use up the TOBS Mr Taylors Cream. I am not at all sure the formula for the tube cream is the same as for the tub cream. Anyway, three passes and touch ups caught the baby this morning. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I think I might be ready for the day ahead. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday. Take care and be safe.

Thanks Joseph! Jury is still out. I'll try it again with filtered/softer water. While the ASW lather was slick & aromatic, I've had better 'volume' results with soaps/creams I use regularly (PAA, ToBS, Proraso, Truefitt & Hill, Castle Forbes, Saponificio Varesino, Wholly Kaw, Stirling, Tabac, Cella, etc.). I have now had 4 different blends of Wet Shaving Product's soaps (who I believe makes the Old Virginia soap for Asylum Shave Works) in the past 16 months, and the Formula T recipe seems to need more swirling time & aeration to reach 'yogurty'. I also notice the same quality when using WSP's Blackbeard (also a Formula T blend), which I purchased in the same time frame (late Jan '20) as the ASW Old Virginia.
