Thank you Jason. I would be happy to rank the synthetic brushes. It would be a good but brief distraction.

    1. Simpson CH2 Synthetic- No real surprise here at all. The CH2 Synthetic has everything I like in a shave brush in general and in a synthetic brush in particular. The brush has exceptional backbone and soft trips. I find it a joy to use face lathering.
    2. Simpson Trafalgar T3. Many of the same attributes as the CH2 above. However, the brush is not a dense and the fibers look less natural. The brush still has wonderful backbone with soft tips. Perhaps the best combination of performance, looks and price I have tried.
    3. Omega Evo. Actually much closer in performance and feel to the CH3 than the T3. Bristles look more natural. Only rated 3rd because of the handle choices and value pricing of the T3. If you want a CH2 but don't want to spend the money this would be my choice.
    4. Shavemac Synthetic. I really like to use this brush. It has a fan shaped knot which makes it easier to splay. It does still have good backbone. I don't like the unnatural looking fibers. They are very similar if not identical to the T3 fibers. I could easily change the ranking here between the Shavemac and Omega.
    5. Thater Synthetic. Great backbone and dense knot. The tips are not as soft as the other 4 brushes. I don't like using it with creams for that reason. I should have read the description better and realized the olive wood under was raw. Big deduction for that.
These are just my random thoughts. Understand that I face lather exclusively and prefer brushes with a lot of backbone and dense knots.

Funny how the hours of the day get filled with activities, though I get very little done. I'm not filling my days with trying to keep up here in 30DC Land and as a side effect The Enablers don't catch my eye so I've no new gear inbound. Shaving? Yup, every two or three days.

Sounds like a great shave, Jeff, and some very informative pics on the different head geometries as well. Glad to hear you came up with a plan to be able to use some fave scents as well.
Agree 100% on Evan's handle as well.

I'm jealous with your 3/29 gear. I have some "American" leather goods(shave products)now, but I did enjoy my Russian leather when I had it.

Wonderful series of shaves and beautiful pics, Rick! I am amazed at how well the humble salsa bowl has lathered for me. I haven't done a lot of bowl lathering in a month or two, but I still use the bowl for every shave to hold my brush.

Absolutely! Such a unique handle for me as well, I have nothing else like it.
Thanks. The trip was uneventful, Gary, but the awesomeness of Cubebe seems to be lost on the family pets...
Thanks, Joe. I'm still firmly in 'one in, one out' mode. Something is going to have to exit stage right when the OC Hawk shows up. I have a few choices...
Thanks, Clint. This APShaveCo fan is a really nice knot and having it match the colours of Evan's handle is a very nice coincidence.
    Thanks, Jim.
Thanks, Tim. It is only bumper to bumper because of all the crap my kids have left laying around...:)

Thanks Jason! I have used this method a few times, but not as dry as today's initial application.

Great shaves Rick! Great value on the salsa bowl, but it doesn't beat my Family Dollar plastic bowl for 27 cents. Four for $1.09.

i have schick that i am content with..that is awesome that you have found your grail shave..i love my new rfb shaves..bbs unless i screw it up..the rest of my collection is just that.a collection.i am going to give the old types a go at some point but the split handle issues they have are a turn off.the new sc,brit rfb and the new/tech hybrid have become my champions.add a couple of oc tto's-senator/sheraton,brit popular and aristocrat.and a ranger, flare tip rocket, and the #58, the rest could go..it would knock 65 to 30 in one fell swoop..
