Same issue here...I'm thinking my 16 year old can learn how to wield the Wahl clipper (which we've had for awhile now luckily).

This is so true for lather and open blade shaving (as Joe also mentioned). Lather quantity & quality are both (IMO) equally important not unlike blade sharpness & smoothness.

Nice honing, setup and shave Evan! Big fan of olive wood (for any shaving gear).

Today I went back to one of my favorite straight razors. It's a Boker, but that's all I know.
Glen doesn't care for these scales, but I like them. They have a good grip.
The edge is keen and with a lovely base of crazy-addictively-smelling lather:

I went to town.
Three passes for a superb result.
Post shave par excellence.
I am really a stud...I mean Stag today.
Used the bath soap AND the newly-acquired Eau de Parfum.
Yummy juice.​

Awesome shave Joseph! Mmm! You may have desensitized yourself from Slippery Elm Bark or you may have used less lather that would have decreased the amount of it.

Wow, that's a beautiful photo, Jim--really sets that razor up nicely! Too bad Sherlock doesn't merit a repeat buy for you. Mind you, I've got a bit of a soft spot for all things related to Sherlock Holmes; I grew up on the stories as a kid

Another day with the JAWS, which is fast becoming a fave. Pulled out the Mountain Man as some of you may recall that I am going to do a long term usage comparison between my Fine American Blend 3.5oz triple milled puck and this 5.8oz Stirling Tub. I debated keeping a chart, or even a Sharpie dot on the bottom of the tub for each use, but I think the easiest way is just to use the MM after each time I used the Fine. That will keep the uses consistent.
Another very nice 3 passer this morning. Some minor, minor sandpaper on my upper right neck keeps this from being the perfect result that yesterday way, but still a great shave. Got a nice lather and although I haven't come to view this scent as a fave yet it certainly is pleasant.
