  1. Same here--take out and delivery only, but we rarely eat out. For my wife's birthday, my mom usually likes to take us out to dinner. Instead, she had a service deliver Red Robin to us. It's not the same as going out, just the two of us.
  2. Awesome Favorite Friday shave Terry--the MMOC is an incredible blade holder! :D

  4. A fantastic Bay Rum shave, Clint! That Jade handle and brass Blackbird offset each other so nicely... beautiful! :D

  5. Thanks, Bill--that's a good habit that I'm going to try to build for the rest of this month!

  7. Gee, I hate it when it snows on Long Island. We didn't have a winter this year and I am grateful, but this CV 19 is definitely payback.

  8. April Focus

Barrister and Mann Leviathan~~Rubberset 400/3~~Feather AS-D2/Wizamet Super Iridium
Apparently, I have no focus for April, except to have great shaves.
With the exception of some Slippery Elm Bark interference, I have been quite successful.
    Today was no exception.
I decided to counter Midnight Stag with a similar, perhaps polarizing scent:
    Barrister and Mann Leviathan.
B&M now adds "Russian Leather" to the descriptive title.
The Rubberset was ready for action and, fully loaded, created this lovely lather.

I am ignoring Vault Boy, as his antics are getting tiresome.
Nevertheless, you can clearly see the super-shiny, sumptuous lather.
It was so hydrated, that it almost broke...but Primo knows when to stop. ;)
I loaded a fresh Wizamet Super Iridium into my trusty Feather AS-D2 and began
wiping off the lather. Even with a narrow blade gap, the Feather cleanly cuts and
is quite audible during the process.
One thing I will say about Barrister and Mann soaps; love them or hate them,
they have NEVER added an ingredient that has caused any skin irritation.
Three passes and some touch-up buffing for a respectable DFS+++ shave.
Big splash of the aftershave and just received a compliment from my son.
    :)

  10. Nice shave Terry! Stirling Sandalwood is one of my favorite scents. In fact, it is my only tub that has a death donut. Lol!

  13. Interesting, Terry. Did you just take Witch Hazel and add some EO?
I need to bring out the MicroMatic next week as well.

  14. I believe bentonite is a low abrasive clay. In many products, clay is used as a low cost filler to increase wgt per unit of measure and improve profits.

Also, it is unlikely that clay can be adequately dispersed without a run on a 3 roller mill, which most artisans probably do not use. Possibly the cause of those soap granule gremlins @Primotenore.

Google up '3 roller mill for soap' to get more info.

  15. I dunno, Paul... are you lathering the area because steel wiped the 1st lather away, or are you re-lathering because the lather dissipated or lost its slickness before you got there with a blade?

  16. Very nice Greens, Clint.
Are you working today? I’m taking it off.

  17. The half pass is when you lather the jawline and neck to cleanup those areas after the 2nd pass.

Thank you Joe. I hope you have a great day as well.

Thank you Jason. I am working from home this morning. Then I am meeting the owner at a client site this afternoon. Unfortunately I will be working all day tomorrow as well. I am trying very hard to not work on Easter. Not sure I can make it happen but I am trying.

  20. Very nice, Angelo. The Czech & Speake is a classic 3x milled puck I haven’t tried.
