Not looking is the smart thing to do.
I'm overflowing with everything and I keep looking. A lot of the time it's not just looking.

If you mean, don't Feather blades work for me? They do indeed. I just have the Wizamets handy. I guess I am lazy.

    The Shave...
For Favorite Friday, I decided to simply do my favorite thing--chase a closer shave. I went with 2+ passes today and paid very close attention to the ratio between steel touching my face, and lather present. I think knowing that I was going to be doing other passes helped with that.

My WTG pass was a simple affair until I got to my chin, then had to start with the short strokes. I’m having a lot of difficulty getting a full WTG stroke there--the hair just seems to grab the blade. If I take the blade at a shallower angle it doesn’t cut anything. I’ll try going ultra slow tomorrow to see what happens.

The 2nd pass was a mixture of XTG and ATG strokes determined only by what was easiest to perform. This also went without issue. I decided not to do any chasing today, and left things at a DFS. Slapped a bit of Frost Drop enhanced Wild Country, followed by 2 small drops of Glacial Unscented Balm, and I was good to go.

    Enjoy your Friday, folks! :D

    38 down, 62 to go!

I had that issue at first. It's really about momentum. Keep moving, even if the intended stroke is very short. The moment you hesitate, the blade grabs. This of it as short, sweeping strokes.

The chin....oh the chin. Yes , well I also struggled with that area for some time . Started another goatee then got mad and attacked that area. At first I changed blade angle then discovered that going N toS first pass was smoothest with less grabbing, no matther the blade . 2nd pass I come in from the jawline angle and work my was across. Sometimes now after figuring it all out I go S to N on 2nd pass. I think the biggest thing was getting comfortable with grip and angle and also knowing growth pattern. I hope that helps Tim.

I'll second that ! Shorter strokes can be more effective in certain areas like the chin but like you say , you must follow through in the sweeping motion.
