We are both smokers, and my wife has had gastric bypass surgery. She can't drink enough water to stay hydrated if she does go down with a flu/covid/etc.

Even healthy young people are dying. Olympic gold medal swimmer got it and said it's the sickest he's ever been.

Being a heavy smoker isnt a good thing, with this virus. Also, your wife's medical issues are a concern. Sorry to hear.

I’m a Financial Advisor so deemed essential. I am working out of the house as of Monday but will need to go to office to sign documents if necessary

I'm working for Amazon these days. Essential, and busy as all hell.

Yep, essential. Right now I wish I wasn't. LOL. Seriously, I couldn't quit if I wanted to.

Looking at the roads around Houston, it looks like many many people are "Essential". Or, more to the point "Essentially need a job, and a paycheck".
The roadways are getting more and more crowded.

As long as they are keeping their distance I think this is a good thing.

I would be both of those.

Chaff, Fodder, Expendable, or what ever word you wish.
Then again, I'm not scared. I feel sorry for those who have to go home to relatives, with medical issues.

I am the opposite, I am classed as " Shielded" and not to leave the house for 3 months.

I'm essential but can work from home. Most important difference with non-essential is, here in the Netherlands at least, when you're considered essential you can bring your children to daycare.

Try flowers, a good wine, and some good Italian food. Oh, candles and a hot bath too. Then, let's see who is miraculously "Essential" .

Some of our jobs are essential. WE are expendable.
