Tim, it's so true! I have walked in neighborhood park and some of the students waved to say hi. Other students have ran up to me to see how I was doing. I have always replied that I miss seeing them in their classes. I have seen others in the grocery stores and we were mutually happy to see each other. Mind you, I am only a sub, but the love these kids gave me has made it easier to deal with this pandemic. I am blessed.

 

You neglected to mention if you have a medical emergency, that it would be difficult to get to a hospital by ambulance. The first responders probably would have a diificult time to find your place and that would not be a good thing.

 

You’ve got that right, my friend. No complaints here.

the shop i work with is very small but very successful and busy.i took the initiative to stay home and save the drain on the company books.it is now getting very slow there.i hope it weathers the storm..

 

Thanks Gary! Every vintage straight razor that I have except one, I purchased on EBay. This one cost me under $30. My 2 C-Mons and the Wosty that I used yesterday were each under 30 dollars. These items helped me purchase my more expensive vintage straights like my Wosty near wedge, my Friodur and my Herder Ace of Spades. My 6 other straights are modern, I purchased 3 new and 3 used. So, 10 of my 13 straights were bought used. Fortunately, every one was shave ready. I don't think that I will buy another straight. It helps that I have been off Ebay for months.

 

Thanks Tim! I just enjoy using this brush and it goes well with some of my light colored scaled straights.

 

Thank you Jim! This razor always gave me good shaves, but refreshing it really enhanced the performance.

 

very cool Joe,sounds like a nice collection.i was fortunate to get my "nice" gillettes from collectors and not ebay .but they cost me.less than ebay mind you.the upside was genuine original sets with zero damage.

In the olden days that might have been true.
In our state ALL addresses must be tied to the phone number of the address, tjen registered to 911.
Then the 911 system can find them.
Also...
Years ago I had a road number address that conformed to only the old numbering system that was not tied to anything.
A gigantic remembering was implemented.
Now the road numbers are designed to lead them right to your dwelling.
Add GPS to that, finding my address is as easy as puting it into Waze, then follow the directions.

Very nice Blair! I've never shaved with a kamisoris, but I know the scales on my straights provide balance. I can see that changing how I would hold my razor.

 

That's great because you have an awesome set ws well. Frankly, the higher priced items that I got off EBay were still reasonable so I did not get hosed. Unfortunately, most shavers don't do their research and they get burned. I believe that one should concentrate on the type of razor that gives them the most satisfaction with great shaves. In your case, it's Gillettes, in my case, it straights.

Awesome Jeff! I know the TAR is patterned after the Merkur Progress. Actually I think Tom gave the Parker Variant a little credit, which is one of my favorites for sure. How does it compare with the designs it's patterned after?

 

I really like the look of that razor Joe! Actually I like the look of the whole shave. Very nice.
