I have never seen a Stirling soap in a wooden bowl: did you re-packed it?

Shave #5 with Astra SS blues, I decided to bump it up to a 2 day growth. Smooth & efficient 2 pass, zero irritation. I noticed that the old boar brush likes to go heavy on loading the Stirling soap for a thick, dense lather, then add drops of water to the brush as I paint the face.

I've got a new Yaqi synthetic due in a few days, which might put the Surrey to sleep for a while as I rotate with my Omega silvertip. Maybe it was my anticipation, but I thought I noticed a scritchy feel to the boar today. Not something I've really ever felt too much of or walked away with that thought. Oh! How the mind plays tricks on us.:eatdrink013:

Pre- Liquid Neutrogena & warm shower
    Razor- Merkur 34c
    Blade- Astra SS
    Soap- Stirling barbershop
    Brush- Surrey boar
    Bowl- Captain's CHoice
Post- Classic Shaving alum, cold water rinse, Thayer's lavender WH
    AS- Gillette gel

This was probably my harshest Taiga shave unfortunately (definitely not because of the Taiga)... This was a fresh Perma-sharp blade and maybe it's not a good one? The end result was very close but much more irritation than normal. I'll try again tomorrow. Happy shaves all.
