all in all, not a bad shave, especially for a cartridge!

certainly worthy of being in rotation!

so, no props for the customized avatar, huh?

everyone, thanks for the prayers. seriously, remember that it's not for my benefit but for those who go before all of us. A remembrance and recognition of all those who have gone before. Sorry. Had to get serious.

are those the flexible cartridges? I thought those were made by Schick? I loved those. Don't be ashamed, man. Be loud and be proud. Or, if that fails just be amusing.

Ya know, having you around here again makes me smile. And to answer you question from a few days back, no, I never did get the chance to try a LUX razor. I haven't seen another one for sale on this board and I won't shop anywhere else.

I *did* buy a soviet copy of an open comb gillette three piece the other day. I'm waiting for that one to come in. I think I have an AD for obscure 3 pieces, especially if they're open comb.

    Hi All,

It's nearing the end of a really long day; just wanted to share a bit of it with all of you.

    [TooSerious]
First, Mike - I appreciate your seriousness. Your example helps me to learn about life. Prayer wheels are spinning for your friend's soul. Calvin, I agree with Mike; it's good to hear your voice again. Guess I'm in a mood to be grateful. JoAnna, Bill, Justin, Micah, Pam, Jen, Dom, Ray, Jim, Bong, Greg, Prof, Shep (wherever you are), and everyone else that I've met in here (even you, Rolls) - I'm grateful for all of you.

So, my wife took a big fall last night. She went down about 8 stairs, face first. She's basically okay with only the remnants of a minor concussion and lots bumps and bruises. She might get the joy of physical therapy or maybe some arthroscopic surgery later on, but she's mostly okay. I'm grateful that she's as unhurt as she is. We spent most of the night in the ER and most of the afternoon at the doctor's office. Really though, all is well and I'm thankful.

When we finally got back home late this afternoon, I found a package (well, 2 packages) from a TSD friend (you know who you are) with a gift that absolutely blows my mind. I'm touched, stunned and grateful. It reminds me of all of the gifts, both material and otherwise that have flooded my life since I met all of you.

Thoughts of mortality and sacrifice, contrasted against the good to be found in the world made me want to share gratitude with all of you.

So, at the tag end of a really long couple of days, I wanted to poke my head in here and say thanks to all of you for just being who you are and for sharing pieces of yourselves. All of those little pieces mean a lot to me.
    [/TooSerious]

Man, am I ever sleepy! I'll probably come back here to read this tomorrow and wonder what in the world I was thinking to post something this grim in HYD! :happy102

    Goodnight, everybody. :signs068

Hope all turns out alright for the wife there Tom, sounds like a really nasty fall, will be sending good mojo here way.

Thanks for the kind words too. I've said it before, TSD really does have a small town feel to it, and that's why I like it here so much.

yes, they are the flexible kind. There's some connection that Schick and Wilkinson Sword are the same - it's known as Schick in the US, in Europe, and I guess everywhere else, it's Wilkinson Sword

it is Jabberjaw! but I put a Crimson tide #12 helmet on him and football under his fin :D

Tom, glad the wife is good, and a time of serious reflection of "counting your blessings" is an exercise everyone needs to do, frequently. There'd be a lot less complaining, discontent, and inconsideration people in general would stop to think about how good they really have it, instead of listening to media outlets that continue to drive a message that there's always something better, and you'll never be happy til you get it.

Tom, glad to hear that is wasn't worse and am hoping that your wife recovers fully and quickly.

Being thankful and taking time to think about the good things certainly helps when life throws curve balls at us.

Yes, I saw that and chose to ignore it. I have nothing against the tide. Just grew up Big (HA!) 10 (they can't count either, I guess why they don't play so well)

it's finally raining here. the kids are in a decent mood. and I got an average shave from my o.c. micromatic. (only nicked myself 4 times). I wish I could use it more often because it gives me the closest, smoothest shaves of the razors I own. But screaming kids and the morning rush make that impossible- never, ever try to shave quickly with an o.c. micromatic.

Glad to hear things are going good... have you tried any of the DE OC stuff?

it is looking like rain all day today again. Not always a bad thing other then no fishing and can't mow the jungle.

That was my comment. It's all good natured kidding, of course. I love my wife dearly and she lets me get away with murder.

    Cheers,

well back from daughter's "bowling" having been hit, kicked, head but, glasses thrown across the bowling alley in pieces, and random objects hitting me while driving home. Yeah.... it was a lot of fun. I can't wait until soccer tomorrow.

I wonder why my tendonitis is feeling worse?

Perhaps it is time to give that pumpkin spiced ale a second try...

If you haven't checked out Zach's method of making lather, check it out... it works real well on a lot of the harder soaps I have. I can't use the Kell's Arabian Spice due to skin reactions, but I have a whole mug full of lather just sitting here making my desk more aromatic.
