  1. Think it is pretty well documented that the Black Beauty is not my fave Gillette. No bragging rights here, it is quite efficient on Neals’s setting.
Give me a NEW LC, a Goodwill, a 3 pc New Deluxe, a NI, a Canadian prewar Tech, a NEW SC, a ‘51/53 Crat jr, even a Red Tip...you get the gist, Gary.:)
  2. That ain’t no Seiko 5...:happy097:
  3. No question, Clint. Such a unique handle in my den. Superb, original work for Sure.

  6. absolutely..the rocket hd is all those razors technology in one razor..i love all those razors you listed and get great shaves from them.but they all seem to lack a little something.head heavy, rattles, poor on atg passes.cheap handles.red tip handles are plain ugly imo ,even the rocket version.the hd is the best of the best.that's why the adjustable came next.no where else to go.:)..i am pissing on my own favorites saying this..
  7. Thanks Jason. The dial is really attractive and readable. This is one of my computer wallpaper photos that shows the detail fairly well.

A simple, classic Lemania buttery-smooth manual-wind chrono movement sits under the hood.

    Good evening guys!
I was going to hold off shaving until tomorrow, but tonight I am making it a Special Saturday Night Shave. No, not a Saturday night special shave! Seriously, this is a special shave because today was my late dad's 93rd birthday so I want to dedicate this shave to him.
    Straight Razor Shave #159
    C-Mon HF 11/16 square point
    JR #290 Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Piacenza SS and AS
    Nivea ASB not pictured.
I just love the JR #290 because it produces a real yogurty, cushiony and aesthetically beautiful lather. It is so easy to make a lather with it. I picked the Piacenza Soap because it is the name of an Italian city which is appropriate for honoring my dad. It also waa my favorite scent until it lost its scent, but tonight it came back but not at the original strength. Ok, the lather was Stirling typical performance. The C-Mon HF is the larger of my other C-Mon razor and this is just as sharp. 2 1/2 passes gave me a nice close comfortable IBSS++ shave. There was not any bloodshed nor irritation. This razor is a joy to use. Again, this one's for you dad! Finished the shave in the usual way. Have a great evening guys! 20200418_200335.jpg 20200418_200335.jpg

  13. Beautiful shave and photo, Joseph.

Is Dominica better than Meehans, or vice versa? Asking for a friend. :)
  14. With my NY plates and surname, they would have me in their state prison. Lol!
  15. Terrific memorial shave, Joe!

  17. Thanks Jim! It's a no shave Sunday for me tomorrow. On Monday, I will use this C-Mon's little brother to finish the first round of using all my 7 vintage razors for Antique and Adjustable April.
  18. Atlanta has been hit hard, and my heart goes out to folks everywhere living in nursing homes -- and their families. It's sickening to know that the peak is yet to come. Thankfully, we live in a mostly rural state that has not been hit quite so hard.

I think we'll see surges in infection rates around the county as things begin to restart. Some people will unfortunately take unnecessary risks, and others will get infected because of the nature of the virus and/or lack of available testing. We spent two hours on a Zoom conference today listening to specialists discuss how the virus affects patients sharing my Bride's condition. Someone asked one of the doctors when he thought it would generally be safe to gather in group settings. He didn't speculate, but he said that all of his medical conferences had been canceled through September or will be done on-line. I think the solution is going to be fairly simple for us...stay home.
  19. Cool watch, Evan! Don't recognize the maker/model. What's the scoop on it?

  20. Great memorial shave Joe.
