Very pleased with my shave this morning-coming back to Central Texas Soaps. The brush worked like magic, loading the soap. It almost resembled an ice-cream cone, similar to what @wristwatchb likes and what @BaylorGator uses in his business. Aaah, you two can argue over who claims it. Two healthy passes, with two manageable weepers during the first. Missed the area just below the jawbone-will correct that tomorrow. Slapped on the Week-end Rodeo Aftershave(both are from CTS). I feel and smell manly. Pretty Excellent.

    Thank you, Dan!
    Very nice!
I'm a pre-shower shaver myself. I do wash my face thoroughly with a preshave soap though.

I have chronic sinusitis so I understand how you feel. Hope it passes real soon Patrick.

Good hypothesis, Daniel. While hot will definitely "soften" facial hair, the drawback is the increased blood-flow to the surface...swelling the skin. Let's get our "Cold-Water" shavers to chime in.

    Need to get some
straight-shaves in, before I lose my mojo.
While I am waiting for my Canadian Tech, I will remain on the dark side.
My "menthol-Monday" shave...well technically, it's more eucalyptus than menthol,
but I am not the chemist in this thread...is C.O. Bigelow, a.k.a. rebranded Proraso.
    Whatever the name, the product is a staple in my den. Great for traveling;
extra-reasonable in cost and in the end, provides as good a shave as anything else out there.
Went right to the kisser with the uber-dense, ridiculously large Simpson CH3.
If the CH2 synthetics are the lather-destroyers, than the CH3's are the lather-hogs.
If you like flow-through, this is not the brush for you.
They are pretty to look at aren't they...:love055:
The Wade & Butcher, with its recent honing and new scales was fun to use.
Bit me on the right neck, but I must blame user-error.
I didn't push the envelope and settled for a DFS shave.
Alum (can't remember the last time I used it) was quiet.
    Thayer's Medicated was medicinal.
    Proraso Green was refreshing.

Thanks Joe, once in a while I do get those "Ice cream cone" loads. :)I'd like to have it that way more often.

They are not the brown box from Poland, they are the blue box Wizamet from Russia. I bought them about four years ago. They are my favorite blades.
