I am in the UK and thinking of buying a brush for my son.
I will probably buy one from Connought.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap but good badger hair brush from this supplier?
I use an Edwin Jagger but they seem to only do synthetic these days as far as I can make out.
Where did all these synthetics come from and are they better than the badger?

I would say better just different. Is your son new to wet shaving?

If he's new to wet shaving, I would suggest a nice synthetic (extremely easy to use). Another variable to think of is the type of soap going to be used.

I am not inclined to revisit synthetic brushes. The few I tried early on in my wet shaving adventure performed okay, but not great. IIRC.

Since I got my Badger in the Extreme Flat-Top, Two Band Shavemac knot with a Rudy Vey handle in 2016, I have used nothing else unless I was on vacation with Chubbz I that I was gifted by @PanChango many years ago.
