I am just in awe every time you pull out another vintage Gillette razor. Wonderful shave, pic and report! Enjoy the day, Gary!
Thanks Gary! It was an awesome gift. I just realized how the ship's name Recovery on the bottle is so perfect for the time that we are facing this pandemic. May we all recover from this dreadful time in history and come out better than before.
Beautiful gear today, Clint. Love the Paladin. I asked Ken to make me a traditional ivory beehive. Didn't happen. Moved on.
April Focus Vintage Tallow Williams~~Mondial~~British FB Tech #44/Personna 74~~Aqua Velva This might look familiar to you from yesterday, and that's because, with the exception of the razor, it is. Up today is my new FB British Gillette Tech #44. I sensed slightly more blade feel than the Pre-War US Tech. Very efficient razor; easy to hold and wield. The Personna 74 still has a lot of life left in it. Once again, I M-Bombed the Williams for an amazing, rich, creamy, shiny and slick lather. I can't get over the post-shave feel. Our fathers and grandfathers had it good with the limited soap offerings they had. I think of Old Spice, Yardley, Colgate, etc. These soaps were high-quality, no "fru-fru" cosmopolitan scents. Just a soap, which would "Get 'er done". Once again, the Aqua Velva rocked my facial world.
Happy Hump day Gents, getting closer to the weekend! counting down the clock before we get out for the summer. I guess you could technically consider me a senior now, because we aren't going back to the school building the rest of the year. Hope everyone stays safe out there. gonna see if I can get a haircut this weekend when the shops open back up. starting to look like shaggy from scooby doo. I may have lost Bill the mustache but I still got hairy on my head. Hairy needs to be cut though.
Very nice shave sir! I might have to scoop my self up a bottle off of the bay sometime! enjoy your day
Thank you Joe. Thank you Joseph. Ken doesn't make many beehives in general. I just got lucky with this one on a drop. Thank you Joe.
Here's a question for anyone-I just "spread" a section of soap I got as PIF across the bowl I had it in(in which I had it? Right, that sounds better)..anyway....I used one of my brushes to do this, and since it was all loaded with the soap, I stuck it in the bowl to use again(probably soon). Would I have to load it some more to get the brush to regain its moisture, or can I just do a shave from what I have?(Course I'll have wet my face with warm/hot water, as I do anyway).
