A white tie shave: did Jeeves tied your tie?

 

2020-04-23, Thursday

Today is the maiden shave with a brush that was given to me, a high density Oumo in Manchurian Finest.

The result has been excellent and the ergonomics of the handle unexpected.

Here, I have fotographed it next to a Simpson's Commodore X2 whose dimensions are well known.
The blooming, after bathing, drying and combing is very accentuated.



Unfortunately, I can't get along with the smell of soap: excellent mechanics, but a scent I really don't like.

The Proraso Red Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #340 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette NEW DeLuxe Norfolk Tuckaway Razor with a Gillette Silver Blue gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My God is this Kameelperd ever bloody FRIGID - as I’ve said so many times, it’s easily a match for all the Stirling Glacial soaps. I enjoyed that rich, THICK lather so much, that beautiful coffee/peppermint scent was ever present, and the menthol sensation pummeled my face relentlessly. The Gold Bond moisturizer and the Snake Bite aftershave increased the freeze big-time. The Yves Saint Laurent eau de toilette is the original version and it’s a top favorite of mine. This shave was a three pass BBS work of art!

Razor: Oneblade Core Version 2 -MFG 2018> #1 daily driver with excellent results.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE modified (5) excellent blade with this razor.
Soap : Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore "Firenze"- love the scent and excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Razorock Plissoft synthetic- great brush I have used for the last 3 1/2 years.
Pre-shave: Brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Razorock American barber with witch Hazel + a dollop of Nivea men balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave today and beyond my sweet spot target!
