Today I got from @gorgo2 a mostly full bottle of Avon Imperator. It smells fantastic and I can tell that I’m going to enjoy it very much. 75EB3804-CB4F-4E94-B07B-7407E4DE37F8.jpeg 04D80E9C-D6AF-4274-AD6C-EC8B80CCF663.jpeg

    gorgo2 geezerhood

That's about as rare as Avon frags get; I'm still not sure it was ever released in the U.S., so do enjoy it.

Few razors I got in recently.

First up a British Gillette Nacet branded 3pc open comb tech. This one is made after 1962.

My first bottle of OS in about 25 years. Wish it was the original but I'll make do with this and my memories.

I just got my Gillette Psycho Tech in the mail today. Upon unlocking the razor with the homemade key I found out this razor was MADE IN ENGLAND! I didn’t even realize this razor was English made; that’s a bonus in my book as I got it on a sole bid of $59. The date code is X1 and I believe it’s from 1977. 506D37E1-2ED9-49C1-9165-D649F3D0FA93.jpeg 24157EDF-291B-48AF-BA98-B4AA02399003.jpeg 720099DB-859A-4609-95A7-6C13391F832C.jpeg

I've been wanting to get one of these for quite a while..but they're hard to find & usually very pricey when they do pop up. Luckily I was the lone bidder & was able to nab this for less than $10 including shipping. :)

Thanks Gary.:) Yes, it does have an "s" on the base plate. Do you know what that signifies?

it is said to be the military only issue..but that style base plate was seen after the war ,then updated around 46 or so-ish to the post war type of base plate that was made until the early 60s..cool score..i don't at present own one of this style..2-3 year window..

That is the deal of the month for sure. I paid about $40 for mine with international shipping and I thought I had gotten a bargain since they usually list for about $70 - $80 before shipping is factored in.

It is assumed that they changed the lather slots for metal base plate razors on the military issue razors during WWII and didn't implement that change on civilian sets until 1947 or early 1948. The very first ones to have that change were most likely the bakelite base plate ones that look like Clix razors.

Great info Gary! I was a bit perplexed by the straight slots as well as the "s"..seems like a transitional plate between the pre war & post war base plates.
