    Super Special Saturday Shave, Joe!
    Thank you, Clint!

A few hours have passed. How are you feeling about the Blackland Tradere now?

I'm still pretty sure I'll jump in on the pre-order. I haven't set a reminder on my phone yet but I'm sure Shane will send a reminder email next Saturday morning.

That's wonderful news about Mackenzie, Randy!

Your Saturday morning started off well with a nice shave and a haircut. My hair clippers showed up today. It will take some time to muster up the courage to use them. Besides, what's the down side of a man bun and maybe even a rat tail braid? ;)

I'm glad you checked in today to let us know how you're doing and to see if anyone could use a CT.

    Aw
    Awesome report, Randy! :D

It's got me super excited to start learning the straight this summer. I'll be working on 100 straight shaves as soon as I finish up with the shavette--I hit shavette shave #50 just yesterday

Sorry about the minor cuts today, Paul. Stick with it, and you'll master that part of the shave. Any idea what you need to change? Blade Angle? Pressure? Direction? Skin stretching?

As a Stoylin aficionado, I'm glad you got to use your favorite scent today...Sandpiper. The scent description makes it tempting..."This scent has top notes of Cardamom, middle notes of Bergamot, Cedar, and Lavender, and base notes of Vetiver and Caraway. It's sophisticated and crisp and very masculine. Inspired by YSL La Nuit de l'Homme"

I hope you are doing well and staying safe. I just got home from one of my periodic mail and prescription runs...all is quiet 'round these parts. My Bride and I even had time to take a nice walk before the rain comes in.

I had a blast this past Thursday. That's when my Kindergarten class has their weekly "chat" on Zoom. Their teacher, my friend, invited me to join so that I could tell the kids hello and encourage them to keep learning at home. Seeing them was a huge blessing.

Congrats on your halfway mark Tim! However, you have
not posted shaves 45 - 50 so it doesn't count! Lol!

Shavettes are more difficult to shave with than straights, in my opinion, Tim. Very small margin of error. Straights just bring into play the extra skill sets of stropping and honing, which are very rewarding once you get the hang of them.

Yeah, Joe, I wanted to see a photo of @BaylorGator rockin' the new haircut too. He was going for the same style he had in his younger days 1.jpg .

Fantastic shave, Joe! Of all your straights, the Friodur is one of my favorites. Hope you are doing well, my brother!

Sorry to hear the shave went down the way it did Paul--still... any shave you can walk away from is an excellent shave, no? ;)

Beautiful photo, and awesome shave, Jim! I've enjoyed following the 30DC's SS Hawk exploits this week--gorgeous razor!

Seeing the B&M Cool soap already has me missing my sample. The lather and I didn't always get along, but it was still a decent lather when I got it right, and I love the scent :D

Great shave yesterday with the Fine Accoutrements’s ‘Marvel’ razor. In that same spirit I decided to work through the rest of my rotation through the end of the month! For today’s shave I selected a wonderful razor that I learned of through my shave brothers at TSD, Classic Shaving’s “Occam’s DE Razor”. I purchased the full kit of three baseplates and two top caps on the run up to the Christmas holidays this last December, supposedly for my son, but after a series of rave reviews at TSD and elsewhere decided to give it a shot. Classic Shaving recommended the use of a Feather blade for it’s use. I was not disappointed! I prefer the aggressive plate with the ridged top cap, which purportedly is designed to help newer shavers master the correct shave angle. I just like it’s looks. In fact I enjoyed the razor so much, that I purchased the heavier gold embossed handle, and swapped the original for the awful chrome handle that came with the ‘Marvel’.

Mainstream shave products are sometimes looked down upon by collectors of high end artisan soaps and matching aftershaves. Pacific Shaving Co.’s caffeinated shave cream and aftershave, however, can’t be compared to the canned, pressurized junk, with the exception of Barbasol, of course. After my shower, I began my shave with the regular cold water rinse. After salting the shave cream with 6 drops of M-Bomb, my Jayaruh #372 Boar brush whipped up a great cooling lather which was then applied to both head and noggin. This would have been a bloodless shave, until my canine companion, Gromit, decided to drop his cold rubber chicken on my right foot in the middle of an ATG upstroke below my Adam’s Apple, resulting in me reopening the healing weep from a few shaves ago. In any case, despite the “Grom”, I ended up with a very pleasant BBS after 2 1/2 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG). I feel cool, smooth, clean, and refreshed.

    RAZOR: Occam’s 316L SS DE
    BLADE: Feather (2)
    PREP: Cold Water rinse
    BRUSH: Jayaruh Custom #372 Boar
CREAM: Pacific Shaving Co.’s Caffeinated Shave Cream
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Thayers Lavender WH and Pacific Shaving Co.’s Caffeinated AS. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum

I know--things got... crazy... this week with work and family. Mostly sorted out now. I did take photos and notes, and will post them posthumously because "pics or it never happened" ;)

Awesome combo, pic and report, Jim! Thanks for the info on not using a Super in this V3. I’ve never tried a Proline- they have the same geometry as a Pro, do they not?
