Thanks Jim. I seriously did the research, and these units came up tops.

It will be great to get back to normal - everybody back to work, professional haircuts, eating at restaurants, and seeing family and friends in person. With the trip to MN, I won't be able to see the gal that cuts my hair until July. I'm committed to at least a couple of home haircuts. I'm sorta curious now how I will do. There's no downside. I'm either gonna brag on or laugh about the experience. :)

One good thing about the lockdown, though, is that we've both been eating pretty healthy and spending less money on stuff we don't need. I finally clawed my way back to my target weight after being bad in Florida. :)

Hope all is well, my friend. I hope work calms down for you soon.

Awesome pic, Jim. I don’t find the V3 OC a particularly smooth shaver either, but I’m enjoying it more than it sounds like you are. Hopefully you’ll get it dialed in. Did you get the regular version as well?
Do you feel those plastic washers are making a positive difference?

Always love seeing that cool Beehive, Joseph. Interesting comments on the replate...I don’t have a problem with mine being replated. Original and mint would be cool, but I never saw one offered that met that criteria.

You'd need a good head of hair to drive a beauty like that, Gary.

Also a fan of the late 60's/early 70's Chevy pickups. Bald guys have to drive too.

    Thank you Paul.

Thank you Blair. I think the brush turned out great. I live 50 miles away from Mom. Luckily my nephews are very close by and take good care of her. We have been using WalMart delivery for her major groceries.

Thank you Gary. The Broman will be have a forever home in the motorcycle travel bag. I might even keep it in the sink drawer for touch ups as required. I would not recommend the Broman to someone wanting a super close shave.

    Thank you Jim.

Thank you Joe. I would give it a 3 to 3.5 stars or a D or C depending on my mood.

Thank you Jeff. Have a great afternoon.

For the record, my comment was not to make fun of Jim! My comment was an interplay with Maestro's comment. Yes Maestro was commenting on Jim's post when he made his comment, but I unfortunately didn't look up the pic when I made my cavelier comment because it didn't show on my phone. It just said attachment and I didn't think to open it up. If I did, then I should have said that my comment is not a reflection on Jim's photo. I did state that I liked his haircut. Jim, it was not my intention to inflict any hurt feelings upon you. By the way, I am jealous because you are a good-looking guy. Maybe, that's why I never married plus the fact that I insert my foot into my mouth and bite my toes in the process. I guess have a thing for bloody pinkies and toes. Lol! Now, let's put this thing to bed. Mea culpa, Mea culpa, Maxima Mea culpa.

You like to stir things up real good, Charlie! I am glad that I can laugh at my unintentional faux pas.

Don’t forget to sit in on “Ladies Love Clubman 101” taught by our own Professor @Paul Turner! It’s a prerequisite for his upper level courses like “Get their heads swirlin’ with Stoylin”, “Make Em Hoot with Brut”, and, of course “Feeling Nice with Old Spice”.
I only know about this because I’m working on writing songs of the same names for a promotional boxed set of albums to be sold on infomercials. I’ve got Boxcar Willie and Zamfir, Master of the Pan Flute lined up as guest artists.

Wow there is that green brush again. I am proud of my restraint on that one. Fantastic photo Jim. Thanks for saving me money on the Hawk.

Two beautiful photos Joseph. Love the Simpson Hive. There was one listed on the Nook BST yesterday in blue at a good price. I was very tempted.

Thank you Jason. The Zenith was a good fit. It did take some work to sand the bottom of the plug down enough to hide the glue line on the knot. The Broman will serve me great on the morning after shaves. It would be a great razor if they had increased the blade gap and exposure just a bit.

Ya, that is my fault. I got a lot more ‘professional’ recess on those handles after I started drilling them out with a Forstner bit in a Jacobs chuck on the lathe. Those original 30DC LEs were hollowed out with a lathe tool. Very custom, not as easy to be precise.

I'm sorry the Broman didn't work out, Jeff, but very glad to hear you didn't do any damage. Thankfully, you've got others in your stable to get a BBS face and dome shave.

Beautiful set up and shave, Joseph. You have officially enabled me on the Small Batch Shave Tonic. I once had a bottle, and I shared it with a friend. Once I work my aftershave inventory down a bit more, I will likely pick up another bottle. I live fairly close to their shop.

    PS: Proraso Green
    SS: Arko
    AS: Tabac

Yep I did it. Arko, Tabac, shavette shave. The shave is really close, but probably a little too close. I tried to use a preshave which worked okay at first but applying the soap directly to face over the PS was a little challenging.

I nicked myself several times do to the corner of the blade being set back in the Shavette. That seems to be an issue unique to this style of shavette. That was my only issue and once I adjust my technique it won't be an issue anymore.

I ran out of lather and had a slight difficulty lathering up for my 3rd pass. It probably happened because the preshave made my face slick leading to less soap and thus, less lather.

However, I'm going to blame or on Jason's brush. Even Jason's brushes refuse to use Arko. (Hoping for a loud, "Oh no you DIDN'T?" scream from somewhere in British Columbia.)

Reasonable shave but not awesome. The Tabac, however fixed everything.

Great story, Jason. Those of us that rock full doo's are faced with similar hardships.

BTW, your Dad had incredible taste in cars. '71 Challenger and and '72 Cougar convertible. Just awesome.

Good shave Evan! I never had that issue with my Parker shavette.

Thanks, Charlie! I’m not! I have 12 great razors in my rotation, all of which are capable of delivering a BBS! The Broman is a perfectly fine razor for beardless, smooth skinned face shavers! :angelic007:
