Awesome shave Simon. Good work with that slant! I like the 37C, but it does take some getting use to. I don't think I've ever used the 37C without feedback from the Alum. Ever stop at 2 passes and see how the alum feels? I've been wondering if its just my ATG pass that needs adjustment or my whole shave.

On your head or back? It's relevant, trust me. The difference could be the previous century or last week.

Great report, Jeff! But sad, too--I'm always rooting for new designs. When I first looked at the Broman, I wondered if the head design would prove tricky to maneuver. I could personally deal with the first two issues, but the 3rd really is a deal breaker. If you can't get a smooth shave out of it, it's not worth hanging on to. I'm curious to see if Clint has the same issues or if it falls under the ubiquitous YMMV category.

I googled Nancy Boy shave cream because I'd never heard of it before--pretty impressive reviews! :D

Awesome report, Paul! I'm always thrilled when I see the VE, ME, or TotWE ratings :D

I know you are joking and you guys love it and it's all good. However, I don't like to give out of guilt. The bible states that God loves a cheerful giver.

Another beautiful photo and set up , Blair! :D

I've often wondered about the traditional kamisori grinds--can you shave with both sides of the razor, or is there a 'preferred' shaving side. I'll be honest, I've shied away kfrom looking into traditional kamisori razors because of the asymmetrical grind. The western style grind seems much... simpler. :)

Hmm! Nancy boy shave cream. Are you sure it is not code for Lady boy shave cream! I don't know about that label Tim.

I feel ya. It's probably why I gravitated towards Stirling. Anything pricier would have to have some seriously good mojo in order to justify me getting it :)

I can answer this Tim. You traditionally shave with the stamp or decoration on the blade away from the face with a traditional grind on a kami. It isn't recommended, but you can use both faces of the blade. You can shave with both sides of a kami with a western grind.

I appreciate the dedication! I don't yet have the lapping films - I ordered them earlier today, so I hope to have them and the acrylic slab by the end of the week!

That's ok! I knew that you would get them eventually. You will not need to use the films for a while, but it is nice to have.

To be honest... I think I killed my edges with crappy stropping :angry017:
I was putting pressure on the blade on both the crOx and the leather! They're very tuggy now.
    Yes I'm an idiot.

Thanks gentlemen. I updated the photo in my original post and here also. The other photo was actually my "detour" shave set up using my birth quarter Slim.

Congrats on passing the half-way mark on your shavette focus, Tim. You've clearly made some solid, repeatable progress and are well on your way toward open blade mastery. A quick, comfortable two-passer with a shavette is always a win! You're gonna have such a leg up when you begin using a straight!

Bravo on the BBS shave with the Slim! Isn't it cool to consistently nail DE shaves after you've got some shavette experience? You officially no longer have an adjustable Slim as you've achieved welded on 9 status!

Happy Sunday, Tim. I hope you and your family are healthy.
