1) Vintage Williams is an amazing soap, easy-peasy to get this kind of lather.
2) I have zero regrets vis-à-vis the re-plated floating head, it's gorgeous. In a perfect world, I would prefer a non-re-plated one in excellent condition.
3) Burt's Bee Bay Rum cologne was a short-lived product, which can be found on ebay, but is commanding ridiculous prices. It is a unique take on Bay Rum.

Now that I'm starting to use up some old aftershaves, I'm getting curious about new ones, including Tabac. As for soaps, Arko is a great performer, but I'm not inclined to get more for now.

When I began using the SRX in my current focus, the leading corner of the blade sometimes scraped my neck. It happens rarely anymore. It will get better for you too. A lighter touch helped, and sometimes I did not seat the blade correctly in the holder. Now I place the blade, press down gently on the edge with the pad of my finger, and clamp it into place. No more fiddling, and that took care of the blade alignment issue.

I admittedly use the supplied dropper. I tried it once with my thumb over the opening and wasted more than I used.

Nice shave this morning if you do say so myself. Aaaah, let's get serious here.Sir Hare is a wonderful soap. On the cap it says "Barber Approved", so you know it must be special. I did their Alpha. A strong tobacco fragrance, strong but not so much as to make you think you're shaving with "Ash Tray Shave Soap". It's pretty nice. Stoylin Gentleman(my A.S. for the day)is the perfect completion for Alpha. (I don't have Gentleman soap, but I bet the two soaps are quite similar.). Two good passes, one small nick(second pass). Successful "Y formation" neck shave. I just might give this shave combo a third day in a row, since I haven't used it for quite a while and I love how it appears quite used after just 3 or 4 shaves with it. Besides, it would provide for an extra day of the Stoylin Gentleman A.S. Super Duper Excellent.

Unfortunate that Winter Reserve isn't an all day scent, well at least not on me anyway. Three hours since I shaved and it's pretty feint.

Thank you Patrick...I do like this Alpha, and the rabbit(Sir Hare)has 3 other fragrance soaps, but I'd like to see him come out with more down the line.

 

Thank you, the Joris is one my favorite safety razors. Love the way it shaves and how it looks, the pin stripes just seem right on a Monday.

 

Very nice shave as always Jim! That CMon brush is so regal looking! I would have bought that one as well as my butterscotch brush if it was available.
