    Proraso PS - Red
    Razorock SS & AS - Blue Fougère
    @jtspartan 30DC w/Omega 10098
    Drew Dick Extra Full Hollow

    Last Fougère day. Ranking the past 9 days of Fougères :shocked003:. Wholly Kaw's Fougère Bouquet wins it for me. Second would be SV's Felce Aromatica. I should note that if the SV FA ASB lasted longer....it may very well be the top choice, but...it fades entirely too quickly with my skin chemistry, within an hour or so. Following would be Razorock's Blue Fougère, WK's La Fougère Parfait, then PAA's Et Tu, Original Brut by Fabergé, and then all the others I have.

    I should note that there's two fougères that didn't make an appearance...B&M's Fougère Angelique & Fougère Gothique were purchased as samples (thanks to @jluc's comments back in 2019). They were quickly turned into empty travel sprayers after wifey's courtesy sniff (which was done to see her reaction...barely a 15 second detour as I was already on the way to file 13'ing them down the drain).

    Onto today's shave.....Started off with an old stand by, Proraso's PreShave, as I wanted a very slick first pass using this blade. Also completely overloaded the Omega knot with Razorock's Blue Fougere shave soap....Jason's handle was a blur for a full minute of bowl whipping, lather overflowing slick aromatic fun. This Drew Dick 'Extra Full Hollow' (purchased last summer from @Keithmax) rivals the thickness of a DE blade, IMO. Digital micrometer measures it at .19mm near the toe, just behind the edge bevel. A Feather Hi Stainless DE blade, still in it's wrapper, measures at .23mm.....and without the wrapper, measures .15mm. IOW, it's a pretty thin, very flexy edge. Honing and stropping is delicate, as the blade will flex with the lightest of pressure. 3 super smooth, but delicate passes to a nice DFS+, 1 corner of the mouth weeper. Still had oodles of lather to use, so I slopped it on the mug while cleaning the tools. Rinsed and wiped with a hot towel, then a nice refreshing dose of RR's Blue Fougère after shave splash. This Fougère is another awesome aroma, quite forward fragrance, lasts well into the afternoon (or again I'm using too much). Always wifey & family approved.

    No image of the RR Blue Fougère shave soap....it's delivered as a medium brown ~4x4x2" block of semi soft goodness wrapped in a nice waxed paper & label. Cut in 2 pieces, 1 smushed into an empty ToBS container, the other a 6 oz PETG container (like PAA or Stirling uses).

    Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

    Wonderful picture and great report, Blair!
    I'm not surprised Fougére Gothique got a thumbs down, it is a polarizing scent. I love it! Fougére Angelique on the other hand is more of a mainstream scent to my nose, a little surprised that one got a quick dump. Sorry I gave you a bum steer.
    Thank you, Gary!
    Good morning..

    Misty never knew this wasn't supposed to happen. Doesn't act like it at all. Knows the house so well that she can go upstairs/downstairs, jump on/off the kids beds, and all around our backyard with little trouble. One side affect is that we can't re-arrange furniture. She does sometimes move cautiously, other times she'll actually run (only in the backyard). When she's with her brother in the backyard, and it's 'all hands on deck' time, she's 4 inches off his heels whether he is walking, or at a full run. She's figured out how to stay on a sidewalk, by the grass brushing against her paws. It's all amazing to watch.

    Misty's issue with sight was congenital. Happens in 1% of Terriers. She had a year and a half of sight in both eyes, lost the second eye 6 months later. Long story short, it was a family decision to keep her (most wouldn't according to stats). We did daily eye drops, both eyes, 2 prescriptions twice/day, ophthalmologist follow ups every 3 months, for 7 years (even with her blind). Just at 2 summers ago, we had her eyes enucleated at the advice of her vet ophthmalogist. We could have done it long ago, but it was another family decision, always with the input from the specialist. They did a great job, she looks like she's permanently in a blink now. Most people still don't figure it out when she's on a walk.

    Both are so much fun.

    Thank you Gary. Oh The Dead Sea soap is certainly better than many I have tried. The scent. Oh the scent....makes up for any shortcomings. I had forgotten how good it smelled until I opened it up this morning. You are right the price is great for the scent and the packaging rivals that of much more expensive soaps.

    No apology needed at all Jim! I read your thoughts on them (and on Maggard's site), and decided it was worth a sample. I expected a bit better of the Angelique....maybe I got a bum sample. But, the Gothique, oh man.....Polarizing scent? I can honestly say I've smelled better rotting fragrances in deep swamps, reachable only by boat, of south Louisiana.
