@Primotenore 's fireside chats put him in the same category of history as those that "F. Delano R" did(I thought I'd twist around the name of our 32nd Potus).

I rarely jump into discussions such as this (although, it was a lovely read), but I have two questions:
Is that an ATRA all-metal handle on the first page rather than a Trac II?
I didn't understand the salmon mousse cookie reference, especially after the Monty Python pic of Death pointing to the salmon mousse; coincidence or conspiracy?

Thank you, first tenor, for making this.

You are absolutely correct. Atra handle. That was apparently a joke from @richgem
You'll have to ask him what that meant.

It's simple and Monty Python has nothing to do with it. Penguins just like fish and cookies.

Please forgive my density, but I hadn't noticed a promise of cookies of any kind, and I do sort of appreciate a non sequitur remark tied to your avatar, but @gorgo2 inserted a still from the Monty Python film, "The Meaning of Life" in which the Grim Reaper has just told all of the guests at a dinner party that they are all dead from having eaten the salmon mousse. And then you wrote you had already eaten all the cookies, and someone else wrote the sugar-free cookies were for him, but they were apparently all gone, too, and it was all over my head, and I thought I had missed something, and I was just trying to understand!

No worries at all! The humor and references here can be a little left field sometimes.

:happy097: These were some of the most cogent posts.

That was me on the sugar-free cookies, I believe.

Very. The jokes are often cryptic yet obscure, with a dash of absurdist incongruity and lemurs.

Wow! I just came across this thought invoking, historical perspective on one man’s journey into the wet shave rabbit hole.
Wow, I can totally relate. I have used a brush and mug for over 40 years. I picked up my first straight in 2002. Until three years ago I was a one soap until finished type of guy. Then, somehow I came across some other shave artisans and social media sites. My one DE razor and straight, Merkur 37 c, and Theirs-Issard Super Gnome Extra, suddenly has grown to a total of 15 straights, 3 shavettes, 1 injector, 4 GEMs and 9 DEs.
I will not list the soaps and aftershaves.

I totally get where you have been and are going.
