My version of the Sunday shaver, MK 32 user grade in ivory, on its maiden shave. And I’m BDBS. Soap and cream were I Coloniali and the brush was a M&F Alibaba.

Heartbreaking moment this morning. Experimenting with lathering my new brush (pictured): I was shaking it dry when it slipped out of my hand and smashed into my concrete floor. Damage assessment- couple big cracks and shards spanning about 1/4 of the handle. Unbelievable. So I glued it and moved on. Used it successfully for my shave and will continue use as long as it’s serviceable. The repair seems sound. Look carefully- in the pic you can see the break(s).

Overall not too bad; could be worse. I’m happy with the fix and now I dry my shaving brushes differently!

Lol, never sling water off a razor or a hone. About 1/1000 of the time you’ll sling the razor or stone. A friend of mine just broke up a Nakayama by slinging water off it and the stone hit the floor. But maybe he has tomo now....

Had to get the modified W&B Battle Axe back out for this soap.

Transitioned the edge from an old JNat to a Shapton 16k edge while I had it out today. Got into a habit of Coticules for Sheffield’s, but this was a nice reminder that the 16k works for everything :).

Yesterday’s shave was superb. The Lund has always been in competition for the best razor in the den. Yesterday’s shave put it over the top. I kept thinking, “Why do I even have any other razors?” :happy036:

    April 27th - SOTD - Menthol Monday
    Good morning guys!
    Straight Razor Shave # 162
    Wolstenholm 5/8 Square Point
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Proraso Green SS and AS
    Nivea ASB not pictured.
Today is Menthol Monday! This will be my 34th shave after honing this razor without refreshing it. The menthol hit really awakened me especially on the second pass. On a 42 hr growth, this razor really did a nice job by giving my a near BBS with only 2 passes. No irritation was present, but did get a weep on my lower right neck. No biggie because I just gave it couple of cold water splashes and by the second pass it vanished. Gave myself a double hit of the aftershave and then followed with Nivea to end this nice, cooling and pleasant shave. [IMG][IMG]

I have seen quite a few Wyeth’s with a made in Germany mark. This one doesn’t have that, but not sure if they made razors in house.

Really enjoyable shave with the Victory Shaving Co. Gunner soap.

Yesterday was shave #99 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero, today was the maiden shave for a CVH MK 32. Klar almond was the soap, lathered with the hippie brush, and a splash of Agua Balsamica left me BDBS. This razor handles like a Dovo Bismarck, a little shorter and lighter, but with harder steel and likely a little more thinly ground. Good stuff.

You can’t go wrong wiht a good Russian. This is another birth year one, this time from the STIZ factory. Although the name of this model is Moscow, the picture is actually from St. Petersburg. Or, at least that’s what @mlys7884 told me when I bought it. Maybe a disgruntled foreman repping his home town on the sly.

    Thank You, Sir!!!

Sorry I have not been around much my laptop did a software update on Friday night and came to turn it on Saturday and nothing. So been on phone much of the weekend to Microsoft. they found it had a corrupt file when it updated and it was that that caused the whole problem, but I have lost everything all my sites, photos, software, the whole lot of the last 7 years. so trying to remember what was on here is next to impossible...

A 5/8 wedge would not be my first choice in shaver. The combo of size, angle and lack of sound just doesn’t do it for me. But I like this hobby for the uniqueness, and this grind is definitely unique :).
