  1. Beautiful photo and shave Joe.
  2. Thank you Tim. Many of the A&E soaps have edgy names and artwork.

  4. Fantastic shave and report, Joe! What's more manly sounding than a Blood on Steel & Ace of Spades shave? :D

  6. It's a nice scent and a great way to start out the month Paul.
  7. I guess Milton's brother didn't play any games with producing your razor. Wonderful shave and post Jeff!

  9. Thanks.....I haven't used it for a long time. I'll be interested to see how it feels in warm weather(course Doc Ezlovan brought it to the TSD Retreat last July).

  10. Thanks Tim! I never thought of it that way. However, I am glad that I am not on the receiving end of Hickock's poker hand of 2 Aces and 2 eights (every card was a black suit). as well as the similar demise.

  11. Amazing photo, shave, and report, Joe! :D

You may very well have changed the quality of my shaves forever, sir. I usually cold water shave, but because we installed a warm water circulating pump so we don't waste water waiting for things to warm up, we, oddly enough, have to wait for the sink to get cold now. The bathroom sink's cold setting is just a bit below room temp till it can properly cool down, so my cold water shaves aren't all that cold. Doesn't bother the Missus at all, but I like my sink water cold. I'm prepping my lather in iced water starting today--this is going to revolutionize my menthol game. Wish I'd heard or thought of this 7 or 8 years ago :)

  14. Nice, Joe!
Never thought to incorporate ice into my cold water shaves. That'll most definitely happen this summer!
Terrific shave, Jeff! Glad to hear the Karve made it back into the rotation.

  15. Another wonderful report, Jeff! I more or less grew up on the cart shaves, so too much pressure is deeply ingrained into my shave psyche (maybe even permanently). Glad you were able to avoid that hurdle.

I enjoy reading about each of your keys! :D

Early morning shave, lunchtime post. I've got this aged Reserve soap figured out again. Like Jim, I bloom it and load the heck out of it. Love this scent and the overload results in a fine lather. As I've mentioned a few times, the T2 Sovereign knot is too short-lofted for me ideally, but I have no one but myself to blame as I looked back at the Simpson site and see that it is clearly listed as a 44mm loft. The Petrol Head is considerable longer lofted, as is the T3. Oh well, still a quality knot.
3 easy passes with the GEM and I was more than acceptably smooth this morning. A little left on my neck, but zero irritation.
    Have a great day all!
  18. Very nice, Jason! Love the picture!

I was going to focus on using up my Reserve soaps but since we've found how to lather them I'm not overly concerned. I will try to get them into the rotation more often though.

I'm not getting that, can you repeat it?
It won't be permanent, trust me. Over the next few years, 'no pressure' will be a sliding scale for you.
  20. I knew it would be a matter of time until it was dialed in, Jim...the big question now is 'are you enjoying the shaves with it'?
    10 years! Very cool, Dale.
The pic looks great, and the shave sounds great, Clint!
    The scent sounds sophisticated? Excellent.

A great pic, Blair! Love that Kami, but I do miss your wrapped handles. Very cool. The scent sounds fantastic as well.
I think we're all in the same boat these days, Joe...not going anywhere, but wanting to smell great 'just because'...
Very nice, Joe. I have the Bon Vivant as well, but don't have any CL Toners. What is your opinion of them, especially in comparison to the aftershaves?
Sounds like a great shave, Jeff! I hate when I nick my ears as well..I've done it 4 or 5 times over the years. Sounds like Karve has a solution for their razors, at least.
